Also there are checkpoints in this game, just exit the puzzle to the puzzle select menu, it will save your progress when you go back in.
I prefer Picross Touch because timer-based scoring like other picross games is just not helpful and just encourages cheating using web solvers.
btw, puzzles on this version of picross are "harder" compare to other platforms. however, the difficulty seems to be artificial, since it has less features and no quality of life, particularly: no undo, no retry/checkpoint, can't crossed out inner numbers, etc, etc, etc.
