Introduction

This guide will give you a little visual hint to differentiate between the 6 different mushroom types.
I hope this might help some of you :)

1.) Wrinkled Yellow Chanterelle Mushroom

This is the Wrinkled Yellow Chanterelle Mushroom.
They are edible.
They come in groups of 5 (3 bigger mushromms and 2 smaller ones).
They do look similar to the Jack-O-Lantern Mushroom, but as the name says this one's hat is more wrinkled and i'd say the colour is slightly brighter.

2.) Tiny Liberty Cap Mushroom

This is the Tiny Liberty Cap mushroom.
They are edible.
They come in groups of 4 (2 bigger ones and 2 small ones).
As the name says, they are tiny, so keep your eyes open.

3.) Brown Deer Shield Mushroom

This is the Brown Deer Shield Mushroom.
These are edible.
They come in groups of 4 mushrooms (1 large, 2 medium and 1 small).
If i'm not wrong, those are veeery similar to the Brown Puff Mushroom, but as you can see on the screenshots, they do differ slightly.
The dark part on this one's hat is more "solid" and not as sprinkled as on the Black Puff Mushroom and it has also a darker shade.

4.) Brown Puff Mushroom

This is the Brown Puff Mushrooms.
These are edible.
They also come in groups of 4 mushrooms (1 large, 2 medium, 1 small).
If i'm not wrong, those are veeery similar to the Brown Deer Shield Mushroom, but as you can see on the screenshots, they do differ slightly.
The dark part on this one's hat is more sprinkled as on the Black Deer Shield Mushroom and the tone is a bit brighter.

5.) Jack-O'-Lantern Mushroom

This is the Jack-O'-Lantern Mushroom.
They are poisonous.
They come in group of 5 mushrooms (3 bigger ones and 2 small ones).
They do look similar to the Wrinkled Yellow Chanterelle Mushroom but this one's hat is more round and not as wrinkled.

6.) Red Amanita Muscaria Mushroom

This is the Red Amanita Muscaria Mushroom.
They are poisonous.
They come in groups of 3 mushrooms (1 large one and 2 medium ones).
Easier to catch than the others i would say, as the red stands out quite good.

Disclaimer

I'm definitely not 100% sure anymore about the Brown Deer Shield Mushroom and the Brown Puff Mushroom.
They do look slightly different and i've not found any other mushrooms (as far as i can remember).
I've got the achievement in creative mode, while running around and eating everything with an "eat" icon and i didn't took screenshots then, so i might be wrong.

Let me know about any mistake i may have made.

uhh i think the aechivment is broken i spawned in all mushrooms after hours of not being abel to find the puff and i ate all mushrooms yet i didnt get acheivment

hopefully "sons of the forest allowsthe liberty cap -mushroom, that after consuming more then "5": lets say will put your character into a psilocybin mushroom trip, lol ::P

@Fekal: As from the Screenshot, back then i found it in the snow biome. Though i have no idea where exactly, and as far as i know there are no fix spawn points for the different mushroom types.

Puff mushrooms used to spawn, but are now bugged. They will not spawn unless you use commands.

I found them in the forest between the goose lake and the yacht beach.
Though you can find them elsewhere too, as far as i know, where the mushrooms appear is randomly generated.
The liberty cap mushrooms are pretty small, so it's easy to miss them.

Any idea where to find the Liberty Caps? Found all of the others seemingly hundreds of times and I'm staring at the friggin ground looking for the liberty ones but cannot seem to find them.
