you can just grab a broom from the big room and beat on the merchant a bit, you can use the torch from the wall too

He does have a healthbar in the manager menu.
From a few rare times he glitched into fights, I saw that his health can change and he can die.

From what I've scene, it doesn't change when you do this, lol.

Do you know he's invincible, or are we just not able to see how much red damage our merchant is accumulating? Like, maybe enough severe beatings and he actually dies. But then again, I imagine you've probably run him through with a sword a few times (or something equally lethal) so I'll assume you've done your homework. :)

It's not the person behind the counter. It's a hired merchant.

And just in case you don't know, you can equip weapons in the lobby by putting them in your managers inventory (top box on the left whenever you're changing their loadout).
