Introduction
Hello, and first, thank you for clicking on my guide.
In this guide I'm going to go over the basics of PWND, for anyone new, followed by my slightly less basic explanation of how you should play the character "Splice".
I will be going over his weapon, abilities, his positives, and his negatives.
I hope you enjoy, and I am very open to comments below, or feel free to add me if you wish to discuss.
So, you want to play PWND?
Now, before I go over the specific character "Splice" in PWND, I would like to quickly go over the basics of the game, as some players may be unfamiliar- so here I am to explain the mechanics of the game.
It's an arena shooter.
There are 4 characters (as of 24/7/17); Hank, Law, Splice, and Ito.
Each character has their own weapon, abilities, and health.
The scoring mechanism is a very interesting one, however-
To score, you knock your opponents health to 0.
This knocks them into a crawling state. From there, you have options.
Either:
  • 1) Fight the rest of the opponents off
  • 2) PWN the player there and then
  • 3) Carry the player to another location, then PWN them there
  • 4) RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

If you chose 1, and you fought the rest off, that player crawling will eventually die UNLESS they pick up a health pack (yes, a health pack restores a crawling player to a physical state!)
If you chose 2, you have the chance to gain however many points that player is worth (2x level) UNLESS there is a stack- if there is a stack, it will take longer to PWN but will be worth more! :)
If you chose 3, you have a certain timer before the character you're carrying (by pressing q) will just disappear from your hands, but this gives you some form of safety as opposed to the open grounds.
If you chose 4, I don't blame you- in many situations, as a player of PWND, I've had to run away once I've got a kill, due to more than one player focussing rockets at me!

Now, onto my favourite character- Splice.

Splice Introduction
This is Splice, my favourite character.

Primary Weapon - Scattershot
Splice's primary weapon looks a bit like this:
As you can see, by the word "shotgun", this is NOT a ranged weapon. If you're looking for a ranged weapon, try Hank or Law for their powerful rocket launchers (Ito has a huge drop so I wouldn't recommend her for range but she's still a very powerful character).

Splice's Scattershot:
Now, as you can see here, the single click rotates into 6 further shots, which all do damage. This is why Splice is a close range character, as he has the ability to do insane amounts of damage in a close radius- as I said above, his range lacks as his accuracy is not.. great. This is expected however, he has a shotgun.
His shotgun is best used in close range (as I have said, I promise I'm not repeating myself without reason)- if someone is being annoying and flying above you on the walls, combine your abilities with your shotgun, get up there and they'll probably either run or you'll be able to shotgun them and take them out of the sky.
This is one reason Splice is my favourite character- he is so good at preventing those flying shots, as he just needs to use his abilities to slow down time, then get close and ruin their HP.
Ability 1 - Goo Bomb
Arguably the most overpowered ability due to its ability to completely halt players, one of Splice's abilities is known as "Goo Bomb".

This is my favourite favourite favourite ability of all time, because it's a HUGE game changer- if someone is trying for that PWN stack, and their friends are protecting, you can goo the friends then stop the PWN, and if you do it quick enough, you can then farm their teammates too!
Here, I have showed the Goo Bomb.
Admittedly, I was trying to goo that AFK player but he got out the way- however, that doesn't disrupt the footage too bad. The Goo Bomb (understandably) shoots out goo. This goo slows the opponents down- the more goo the opponent comes into contact with, the slower the opponent is. However, you can also come into contact with your own goo, so you have to be very careful.

Ability 2 - Time Wave
This ability is the one that creates a huge spirally cool looking thing, which slows down opponents completely; almost as if their time has been warped!

This is quite a cool ability, for a couple of reasons. Not only does it look absolutely awesome, it also slows your opponents a huge amount, as well as giving you that chance to either recover HP or to PWN someone, or even to blast the person you've slowed. One other huge benefit is that it has a huge radius - you can slow more than one person!
I think you'll agree that this is possibly the coolest looking ability, as well as quite a strong one.
Personally, I think this is what makes Splice a very very rigid character- he has all these abilities which allows him to swoop in, deal huge damage, and then escape to reheal.
Movement - Fast Forward
As I said before, this is one of his abilities which allows him to move about very quickly, allowing him to cause damage then escape very rapidly- a huge game changer in certain circumstances!

"Fast Forward" is a very good ability, due to the fact you can get around the entire map very quickly- allowing you to prevent PWN stacks, or even create your own.
This ability does what it says on the tin- when you use it, you "dash" a certain distance in any direction! In the video above, I showed it by moving up, but in reality you can move anywhere on a 360 degree radius (AS LONG AS you have space to actually warp)
Pros of Splice
So, now I am going to go over the pros and cons of using Splice as a character.

One HUGE pro is the ability to travel around the map, using his fast forward ability. This allows you to change the game entirely- if someone has taken a PWN behind a wall, no problem. Simply Fast forward to them then shotgun them from a close range, and watch the damage mount.

Another pro is the ability to take out those flying players, by slowing them completely- If you can master the Goo Bomb, you can really deal damage to those individual players who completely dominate the skies; take them to your territory. Or better yet, take theirs!

A third pro is the ability to defend your team. One of the HUGEST things about PWND which I find people don't do enough is protect PWNing. Now, with Splice, you can Goo bomb players, you can fast forward to chase them off, and you can even time wave them to completely freeze their movement.
Cons of Splice
One major con is his range. He CANNOT take ranged battles, for example against Hank or Law. However, what he CAN do is bring himself to the fight via using Fast Forward to dash to them.

Another con is his damage per individual goo pellet. These, while doing significant damage combined, are NOT the strongest shots. For example, one missile rocket from Hank can do around 500 damage when hit properly- Splice can do up to 140 damage per hit so with him, you have to be very accurate.

A third con is that he has no AoE effect with his shotgun.
For those who don't know, AoE is area of effect.
What I mean by this, is that (for example) Hank's rockets cause an explosion, which can damage the player even if its not a direct hit. With Splice's shotgun, he has to cause a direct hit. This causes more room for missing.
Conclusion
So, in conclusion, Splice is a very good close range warrior- if you have the accuracy, and the quick reflexes, Splice is your guy. If you prefer a ranged character, look for Hank/Law. If you would prefer an AoE but still a close ranged character, look into Ito.
Thank you for reading this.

ALL of the footage was recorded by me, ingame.
