Playing in Monochrome
By Domgrief
Getting the "Reach #10 With Monochrome" achievement seems like guesswork, right? Guess again.

Introduction
After the first couple of rounds in Monochrome mode, you could be forgiven for thinking that success is completely random.

After a few more rounds, you might give up and decide to use the "Hold to Skip" feature to quickly get the Monochrome achievement.

If you persist few more rounds after that, you will notice patterns with the colours. It's not easy to get through Oceania in this mode, let alone the whole game, but by using these patterns the achievement should be within your grasp.
Enabling monochrome mode
To enable the monochrome game mode, open the game options using the gear icon from the main menu.

Click through all of the available Color Blind options until Monochrome is displayed. The screen should visibly turn monochrome, and words like "MENU" at the top of the screen will change from red to black.

Return to the main menu using the MENU button, and proceed with the game as normal.
The Monochrome achievement, in black and white

Use the image on the left (taken with the extra "TV Lines" disabled in the menu) to help distinguish between colours.

  • Yellow and Cyan are light and somewhat transparent - you can see the TV lines through them
  • Green and Red are also not very dark, but they are dark enough that the TV lines no longer obviously show through
  • Purple is slightly darker still, and is also very faintly transparent
  • Blue are visibly dark, nearly as dark as the remainder of the text on the screen

The darkness of each colour may still be a bit difficult to distinguish in the heat of the moment, but if you can immediately eliminate 2/3 of the choices every turn, your odds of making it to channel #10 and beyond improve substantially.
Lazy mode
If this still seems like too much hard work, there are two ways to unlock this achievement the easy way:

Cheating
Once you have unlocked another continent, you can start Monochrome mode from another continent. The game will recognise that you are higher than Channel 10 and automatically unlock the achievement.

Hold to skip
Once you have earned sufficient CP, you can unlock the Hold to Skip feature from the Skills menu (top-left icon in the main menu). Once this is done, you can skip through the first ten channels of monochrome by holding down the left mouse button until the achievement is unlocked. Skipping ten channels will cost a mere 10CP!

Both of these methods work at the time of writing, though it is likely that the first will be stop working after a patch in the near future.
Outro
Don't forget, you are a gifted child. You can do this.

Thanks for reading, and good luck!

A special thanks to everyone who has commented here with questions, suggestions or corrections and prompted me to continue improving this guide. Please keep them coming.
