Convenient Crossbows

Beskrivelse
100% Conflict Free! Dawnguard required.

Why weren't crossbows added to normal forging, purchasing, and spawning in the game? I can't think of a good reason, so let's go ahead and do that.

You can now craft Crossbow, Steel Bolt, Dwarven Crossbow, and Dwarven Bolt at any forge. The only requirement is having Steel Smithing or Dwarven Smithing perks.

You still must complete Ancient Technology to unlock exploding bolts and enhanced crossbows. This was done so that Ancient Technology still has rewards. Exploding Bolts can be crafted at any forge now like crossbows and normal bolts.

Crossbow, Steel Bolt, Dwarven Crossbow, and Dwarven Bolt can now be found at shops all over Skyrim and on spawned NPCs. Exploding bolts and enhanced crossbows still are only available from crafting or purchasing from Sorine. Crossbows and bolts are a little bit rarer than bows and arrows, and they won't appear on things like Forsworn or Falmer where it wouldn't make sense. They're mostly found with bandits, guards, and soldiers.

There you go. Very simple and does only what Dawnguard should have always done without adding anything else. Why make this when other similar mods exist? Well, this doesn't add in new crossbow types and doesn't negate the rewards of the Ancient Technology quest. It also doesn't conflict with other mods at all, ever. Nothing similar to this that's available can claim that.

When I installed the mod, the texts of items and quests are sometimes in English, and sometimes in the language I had Skyrim set to. Weirdly enough, the crossbow and bolts names didn't change language
Isn't that a conflict?

Added bonus that the crossbow now becomes available to all in the game, which not only makes firefights more interesting (always thought it one sided when you have crossbow and other bows), but also helps keep up a steady supply of bolts.

I haven't changed these recipes. They're just now allowed to be produced at any forge, instead of just the one in Fort Dawnguard. Could I do something else? I could, but I won't. That's not the point of this mod.

i thougth the crossbow was made of iron though... could you add a crossbow that is craftable without any perks, but made entirely out of wood without iron/steel/etc?

Thank you for the quick reply. I will give that a try. If it doesn't work I'll start using nexus lol

Common and known issue with Steam Workshop for every game, as far as I know. It's more likely to happen if you have a very large number of mods. One possible fix is to move several of your mods out of your data folder, unsubscribe, let the loader recognize this, and then move them back. This'll let you keep them while clearing your list. It may very well not work, but I don't know what else will.

Alternatively, all of my stuff is on Skyrim Nexus too.

hmmmm it is not showing up in my load list. I have subscribed. Based on the comments I have no doubt that the mod works but for some reason my game is not loading the mod when I subscribe to it.
