I'd be silly if I said the game isn't bit of a money hole, but I think overall the gameplay is good. If the devs hadn't included the free starter pack I wouldn't say it's worth $39.99 - $119.99. After the starter pack disappears, I wouldn't get it unless it's on sale. If you got TSW4 or before, yes, maybe the packs are worth it. Any newcomers shouldn't get this unless they are willing to put in a lot of money for what they're getting.

Some advice for Dovetail (if they bother to look at this which they almost certainly won't): Lower the prices on DLCs, you will make more money that way, because far more people will buy them. Also, if you do the free starter pack again, keep it forever, not just for 50 days or whatever.

Final judgement: Only buy on sale, otherwise it's not worth it. These devs pretty much are the only people making realistic train sims though, so there aren't many other good options.
