Good game. Downloaded it to check out new volumetric smoke and other features. Expected to play it for a few weeks and forget. Now I'm already 1000 hours in with Prime. Crazy. And it's all because I met good / interesting people here.

But not without downsides. It's not well optimized. Even on good hardware FPS is not always stable. Previous updates introduced micro freezes and shuttering issues. Mostly noticeable during heavy shooting. Full restart helps in most cases but overall performance degrades quickly anyway. FPS is ~2 times lower than in legacy CS:GO.

Originally I played CS 1.6 in my childhood for many hours and CS:GO for a short period of time. Compared to both games graphics feels much brighter in CS 2. Not sure if it's better tho. Dark places (like tunnel) don't feel so dark anymore.

You can meet cheaters on any servers (including Prime). VAC isn't perfect and most likely never will be. But in any case, it's fun and worth trying 🙂
