DARK SOULS III is the perfect ending to this beloved franchise and a true sequel to DARK SOULS I. I’m very new to the franchise only finishing my first Souls game (DARK SOULS I) in 2023. I tried over and over to get into this game, but it lost me shortly after the second boss every time, but finally I decided it was time to finally play through the full game and man it was incredible! DARK SOULS III mechanics feel perfect, the boss fights feel perfect, the areas feel perfect, everything is literally astonishing. There wasn’t one moment where I felt like was wasting my time or hated the game. The references back to DARK SOULS I and II are all super cool, but I won’t spoil those because I think those are best found on your own. I will say the PvP could be better, but it’s something I can get by. Anyways I really want to focus on the gameplay and boss fights.

It’s super fast paced and I absolutely love it. The bosses feel so cinematic with the pace of combat and the fluid movement that it feels like I’m watching a movie. Second Phases is also a nice touch especially during the last boss fight. FromSoftware truly did a fantastic job with the boss fights.

The pace of the game is completely different than all prior entries, and that’s great. The speed of combat, the way the areas play out with the speed of everything, Greatswords :) it’s just all incredible. Anyways the speed is just awesome. I like the way combat feels so much and I just can’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to try Elden Ring next for the even faster gameplay!

DARK SOULS III is truly a masterpiece and right up there with DARK SOULS I. I highly recommend it to all new Souls fans and long time Souls veterans. Final verdict: 10/10
