After playing 8 hours of Dirt Rally 2.0 I decided to get the first one as well. Dirt Rally was delisted from steam store page so I bought a steam key and well now I am here !
Played one stage only so far, its same as Dirt Rally 2.0 with bit worse graphics but bit better handling I would say, not necessarily better but less slippery on road. Both are great on their own.

If you like Dirt Rally 2.O, you will love this one.

I am pleasantly surprised how good this sim is, I had less hopes but in the short while I've played, it was extraordinary. The menu is so damn simple and easy to understand unlike that of Asseto Corsa (I love that sim as well) and the driving feel is great, car sounds phenomenonal (I've an open back studio monitor). Pretty soon I'll buy the entire DLC/store content of this game.

I mean it's free to start, doesn't take you anything to atleast try it, There are Four free tracks and I think about 7-8 free cars (and they're actually good ones).

If you like Asseto Corsa, you'll love RaceRoom Racing Experience.

Now the game is in excellent shape after the November 13th update. It is now very close to the original and I love it.

First of all whose wisdom was to put all base game free content in a seperate location of steam workshop. It took me 2 hours to install them as I wasn't able to figure out what am I supposed to install. I installed the wrong stuff and then again uninstalled and installed the correct one. I am real pissed.

Coming to the sim itself, RF2 is probably one of the best sims on the market in terms of car handling physics and probably the worst in terms of UI. You will fell in love once you get hang of it. I cannot speak for the DLCs but the base game content is mersmerizing and ample for me.

NOTE : WAIT FOR SALE, RF2 GETS REAL CHEAP THEN. BUY RF1 TOO, IT HAS THIS NOSTALGIC SIM FEELING.

I like this sim, thing is its UI is so confusing for me. Yes, this may be a skill issue, I've only played for about 1.5hrs and surely I will figure out the UI sooner or later.

Asseto corsa is the best bang for the buck sim on the market and is the entry point in the world of simming. Having AC is a must.

NOTE : DO NOT BUY THE BASE GAME, BUY THE ULTIMATE EDITION, WAIT FOR STEAM SALES TO GET IT DIRT CHEAP.

In love with the handling and graphics. DR2.0 is very cheap in steam sales, so wait for them. I use a Xbox controller and I am still able to enjoy, so yes wheel would be much better but a decent gamepad will give you fun too. Since you're looking for rally sims I'd like to recomment you few more:

Welcome to driving sims !

I always wanted to play Project Cars 2 and now I got it.

Coming to the game itself, I am addicted, everything the handling, how the cars feel is so natural, I am loving it. I do not even have a wheel, I use my Xbox Gamepad, not the best way to play, but I am still able to enjoy quite a lot. The weather and day night cycle implementation is phenomenal, however I am not able to turn headlights on for many cars even after I manually assigned button for it. For only a few cars it works, that's my only complaint, I can't even see the roads in niht because of this.

I've also played R-Factor 2 and Asseto Corsa, but the fun in PC-2 is incomparable. I look forward to hours of more fun here.

I loved it, I found some missions confusing, and had to watch YouTube gameplays to understand what exactly to do but it's fun. I bought it at 90% off and you should wait for sale as well. Enjoy !!

I absolute adore AC7. I find it too hard for some reason, some missions I had to play over 10 times to beat them, and I have not completed even a quarter of the game. Get the top gun maverick ultimate edition on sale. Don't buy the base game.

I am not a sheep so I won't follow opinions of other guys. Let me give you my perspective.
I have played this and NFS Heat and unbound is miles better in terms of graphics and just overall design and enjoyability. Bare in mind I bought both of them at sales, NFS HEAT at 95%off and NFS UNBOUND at 90%off.

The cartoonish style of characters and vehicle effects is a breathe of fresh air the franchise needed. Don't fall for nostalgia embedded bad reviews of other people. Bare in mind nfs unbound isn't optimised well, on RTX 3050 I'm barely able to pull over 45fps on medium settings. Heat is better in this regards, I get approx 70 fps in it

Final Verdict: Unoptimised, buy only on sale, different compared to other NFS titles, maybe not for everyone but give a try.
