Now most of your currency is and will be in inflation and losing because the ones who bough most of your currency after 1985 are the French and the British, and after that, they can just sell that money back to your country, producing inflation and forcing the nation to produce higher and higher values of the money.
Im sure the country made multiple new money with higher and higher values with the pass of time.
This is the modus operandi of this nations, and egypt isn 't the only country who suffered of this strategy.
France and United Kingdom do this to avoid ex-african colonies to become a important nation, and when they can't do it economically they do it with soldiers and drones, as happened in Lybia.

Or why most of their factories of the north was destroyed?
Because France and United Kingdom don't wanted a Strong economy in Egypt, think how Egypt was a incredible wealthy place during 1250-1780 and later the Frenchs took egypt during 1798 to 1801, destroying all their factories and industries to turn them back to middle ages, with only agriculture.
From 1805 to 1882 it was one of the most important world economies and industries.
Later the british came (with french support) and destroyed the local economy once again, and this time they will never recover, because the few industries became part of French and British companies, and when egypt was preparing their independence they ridded out of most of that to avoid the Egypcians to recover.
