Rhythm Doctor is a game all about mashing your spacebar to the beat, but don't let this simple concept fool you. This game has some of the most fun songs to play through compared to other rhythm games, and every song is a genuine bop. And though it is still in early access, there are plenty of songs to play through and master, including a few crossovers. You owe it to yourself to give this a try if you are a rhythm game lover. 10/10, would destroy my spacebar again.

I wanted to enjoy this game, I really did. But after the first couple hours or so, the only thing that doesn't get boring is the parkour. Yes it feels floaty, but the improved move-sets and animations and gadgets make traversal genuinely enjoyable.

The story on the other hand, combat and questing are, in my opinion, worse than the first game. DL1 didn't exactly have a revolutionary story but at least it had genuinely fun side quests that weren't 90% timed challenges. And its main story didn't try to throw too many new characters in at once; you had the tower and rais' gang, nice and simple with a few additions AFTER you got acquainted with everyone. DL2 jumps from person to person so quickly that each character feels more like a child's toy and once you get bored of playing with one, you move to the next. Choices do matter somewhat, but only when the game decides they matter and even then, the overall outcome is basically the same.

As mentioned above, the combat is somehow worse too? Weapons don't feel like they impact quite so forcefully and the zombies have far less gore detail. No more cutting off chunks and getting limbs to fly everywhere. It all feels toned down still and the ragdolls are no where near as good as in the first game.

This was advertised as a RPG survival game where choices matter with an open world with next generation mechanics but it, like many other games, failed to deliver on content that was promised and what is left is a watered down grind fest with worse mechanics than in the first game. A total step backwards aside from parkour, and unfortunately a game I found myself rushing to finish towards the end as it had started to lose my interest.

Get this on a heavy sale or just play the first game again.

7 Days To Die is a fun title to waste away your time with, but the lack of performance improvements and confused direction can't help but make you wonder what this game could have been if more focus was put into the right areas of development.

I have played a good 100 hours or so of 7DTD over the years, back when the game first was in development, the console port and the current build. The gameplay loop itself is incredibly addicting if you are someone who enjoys base building and tower defence. The amount of freedom you get when designing a base is honestly overwhelming at first. Scavenging for supplies and using resources you collect to upgrade areas of your base certainly feels rewarding and impactful.

Combat in this game is a mixed bag. Some weapons feel great to use while others lack any sort of real "feel" about them. And while it is fun to bash a zombie skull in and watch its head explode into a mess of gory paste, there is one thing that holds combat back. The strange design choice of having melee weapons and attacks from zombies reach far further than you expect makes new players question how close is too close when initiating in combat. This leads to any player feeling like they aren't really connecting with any of their attacks as the weapons themselves never look like they fully impact their target.

This unfortunately is where the positives end. To name a few things that I don't understand or like:

- Loot pools are way to generous, leading to an abundance of higher tier gear without much effort
- Experience grinding after the initial 10 levels or so boils down to zombie hunting as its the easiest and best way to level up
- Removal of the "do an action to level a skill" system makes it difficult feel any meaningful progress when levelling
- A lack of general direction for development means every major update has a system or feature reworked in such a big way that you have to relearn some concepts even if you have a lot of prior experience
- PC performance is so poor that my gaming laptop with a GTX 3060 and 16GB of memory sometimes struggles to run the game, with CPU temperatures higher than running a AAA title (even though this game is far less intense graphically and fundamentally)

And that is just naming a few of the bigger issues the game struggles with currently. So while I do recommend giving this game a go, don't expect to have a smooth experience. Wait for a sale or just don't pick this up until it eventually goes gold (if that will even happen at this point). TFP, you guys really need to pick a direction and stick with it.

I don't usually write reviews but this game deserves a little more love than it has received.

Ok yes, the game is still in early access and appears to be stuck in this state for far longer than the devs originally planned. But does that make this game a bad game? No. Absolutely not.

To sum up the gameplay, you click, your character attacks, you kill monsters, you gain gold, you buy equipment to slay monsters faster, repeat. But what keeps you engaged and always coming back is the extensive skill tree along with the visual progression (as well as damage) of buying new equipment. Yes, the game does start slow. What people have failed to talk about is world modifiers that spice up how fast you progress through each world. Sometimes you can get lucky and have low enemy HP but higher upgrade costs. Other times you'll be flying through upgrades but enemies will be tankier.

The art style is really quite pretty, though from my experience, could be a little sharper. Some assets seem just a little blurry round the edges, not sure if that is intentional or not. Does not take away from the experience, but just bare that in mind. Worlds are varied and have different sub climates as you progress such as light jungle, to dense jungle, each having its own design.

The music is phenomenal. For an idle game it sure does hype you up for boss fights and timed zones give a sense of urgency (these zones sound annoying but trust me, they are more fun than you might first think). There is a little bit of a.. bug..? unsure if it is intentional or not but sometimes the music will cut out and you'll be left in silence until the next boss or timed zone.

There is a lot going on in this game, too much to talk about here. But I will say that if you enjoy idle games and are looking for a fresh take on the genre, this game is for you. The negative reviews on here are mainly from people complaining about price or the fact it is still early access. Yes, it should be priced a little more fairly but overall this game is well worth the investment. Don't let the bad reviews put you off.

8/10 would highly recommend.
