so, for anyone looking into space simulators and interested in elite dangerous, here's my general review after playing this for a couple months

main pros :
- pretty
- surprisingly massive universe
- lots of ships and options when it comes to what you use in them
- no real restrictions, ya just kinda do what you feel like, wanna murder some pirates and go be a space uber? go for it.

main cons :
- new update is buggy as hell, go for horizons for a more consistent experience
- gets tedious sometimes
- fairly grindy but nothing insane
- lots to do but eventually you run out, not much to do besides the same thing over and over

to put it simply, just play this game the way you wanna play it and itll be fun, its better with some friends.

a basic rundown of the game is split into 5 styles, combat, cargo, passenger, mining, and exploration
- combat is mainly bounty hunting
- exploration is exploring the galaxy and selling the information you gather
- mining is mining for materials and selling them
- cargo is basically being a space FedEx
- passenger is basically being a space Uber / taxi
the whole point of the game is to make money for better stuff, thats it.
the newest update is quite buggy from what ive heard so ive done my best to avoid it

overall, 7.5 / 10

so, for anyone into racing games and/or looking into need for speed unbound, ive made a list of things youll definitely feel if you've played other games in the franchise or are picking it up for the first time

1. all risk no reward, in the previous game "need for speed heat", there was a risk reward system, the more heat (wanted level) you had the more you would earn, like extra money from races and extra XP from challenges
with this game, cops are only an annoyance, they dont provide any kind of positive effect for escaping them

speaking of the cops, oh my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god
they spot you through walls sometimes, under a bridge, on top of a cliff, etc
almost impossible to escape higher level chases because of the swarming using anything other than the best cars
for example, i escape a heat 4 cop chase, which means they spot me really quickly. once i escape the chase, nearly every single path around me has a cop on it

in need for speed heat, there was a day and night mechanic, day time was scheduled events, so racing for money with no cops, no traffic
at night, it was street racing for XP, there were cops and traffic to get in the way
it flowed really damn well, do daytime races for money for cars and parts, do nighttime races for XP to unlock new ones
with unbound, you dont have a choice, let me explain
there is no leveling, so everything is money
you do 1-2 day races, gain 3 heat
you go to the garage to cash in your winnings
next you have to do night, do some races for more money
but it keeps your heat, so you START at heat 3
there isnt a single difference between day and night other than risk, and again, no reward to that risk

pros :
the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beautiful
about 150 cars to choose from and customize
really nice handling tuning
side bets are worth it
proper progression, starting in a slow car and working your way up over time
pretty good customization

cons :
restrictive with what races you can do, both in single player and online
the cops are awful
not worth the price
bland missions and online gameplay

in heat, if you wanted to do a single race to either earn some quick cash or practice, you could just start it up no problem. in online its the same thing, you just drive up and start
in unbound, you dont get to choose what races you do, it picks a list for you day by day. in online, you HAVE do start the whole speedlist (3 races) and its impossible to do it alone, there needs to be atleast 1 other person you're racing against for the event to start

to put this whole review simply, they had 3 years to develop this game, and its so damn dissapointing
for a game built on the idea of expression, its so damn restrictive.
if you're looking for a need for speed game, go with heat.
