“I’m glad you’re here,” I said, though my voice felt small against the weight of our past. He nodded, stepping inside and closing the door behind him, sealing us away from the world outside.
We sat on the couch, the silence stretching, heavy and palpable. Memories flooded my mind—laughs shared, secrets whispered, and the undeniable chemistry that had drawn us together like moths to a flame. Yet, like all flames, ours had also burned its share of scars.
“I miss this,” he finally said, glancing around the room as if trying to capture the echoes of happier moments. My heart ached at those words, but I knew that time had changed everything.
