Baldur's Gate 3 is the best game I've come across in my entire life. It is a gift and blessing to all those who enjoy D&D, myself included. It is a game not just for the community of the game it's based on though, it is for all people who love RPGs. This is a game made for the player, in every sense of the word. With such an amazing main story that allows you to play HOWEVER you'd like. And I mean it. There is so much to do and so much replayability because of that. Side quests are plentiful, the environment is something that reveals different stories when interacted with in numerous ways. It's characters are just...incredible. We have a sassy vampire and magical artifact eating wizard to name a couple. The voice actors deserve all the love for how they bring these characters to life. You can genuinely build a sort of connection to these personalities that can lead to you developing all sorts of opinions of them, making you really feel like you're in the game and interacting with them in real life. There are side plots to these characters that you can do (or not, it's not like the game dictates what you do lmao) and the character development that these provide is just amazing. I love watching them grow AND helping them to grow.

The character selection is great, and really gives you a lot of freedom to really maximise your enjoyment. The combat is great, although it's SUPER CHALLENGING. Words cannot describe how challenging it is. My first playthrough, I played on the lowest difficulty because I wanted to enjoy the story. The second playthrough I played on the medium difficulty and almost immediately changed to the lowest just because I kept getting brutally smacked around LMAO. Additionally, the soundtrack is incredible and I just adore the music and how it is integrated into the game. Truly adds that extra immersion into the environment.

The ONLY thing that I can critique about this game is the romance. I adore the romance, but it is so difficult and confusing at times. There's this one event in the first act where you can get 'spicy', let's say, with a character of your choosing. You can miss this depending on what route you take. This event also commonly begins the romance of many characters (to our knowledge). How do you romance these characters if you don't do this event? Who knows? There's different ways and can be a bit of a waiting game even. Even after this event and choosing a character to romance, there's no real surefire way to confirm the romance route. This game is fairly new at the moment, so getting help on your difficulties is a bit impossible as well, which is unfortunate.

To conclude, this game is amazing and full of surprises and stories that leave you reeling! It still needs its fair share of updates to patch a few glitches and maybe some more assistance on romance, but this game is great, genuinely. It's worth every single dollar.
