Took me 2-3 hours to complete. Fun short experience. I enjoyed it.
Feedback:
- After you finish the game, it lets your start new game where you can unlock achievements, but I think these achievements should have been there from the start. Maybe some people find replay value in the act of digging for the sake of it, but for me I liked working towards the ending. Speaking of the ending, I liked it.
- The game could've benefited from better sound design, maybe some soundtracks to make the deeper layers more atmospheric. Also, I had to turn off the sound effects because the shoveling sound was too repetitive and I got tired of it.
- I think there could've been a bit more content, maybe some more upgrades. I would have loved if there were collectible items scattered in the dirt, and when you pick them up they each tell a part of some story.
- When you dig, often time there's leftover spots of dirt floating midair, you get stuck on them and it makes the movement awkward because you can't see them too well. Would be nice if the system auto-detects if the mesh is of a certain size and/or is disconnected from the rest, then it gets destroyed.

The gameplay is pretty straightforward.

I got a refund for this game because me and my friend couldn't connect to each other's lobbies, essentially making the game unplayable. Even if he directly tries to join my lobby through a session ID, it would tell him that the lobby doesn't exist. He can't even find my lobby in the "search" panel.
Somehow, through sheer luck, he managed to get in my lobby once, but that's about it, and we couldn't reproduce it the second time around, wasting 20 minutes trying to get it to work, before I refunded.
The game was fun otherwise, I enjoyed playing it. But if it's such a hassle to get into a game, then it's not worth it.

Forces you to connect to a PSN account, otherwise you can't play it. My country doesn't support PSN, so essentially I can't create an account, thus can't play the game anymore.
If you're gonna put up a condition, enforce it right away so that at least players can refund the game if they can't play it.

Early Access Review
I really wish people wouldn't cheer this game on only because they want the Pokemon developers to step it up. Personally, even if they did improve Pokemon, I wouldn't wanna support a genre that only tends to their fans when they're backed into a corner cause another game comes along. Support TemTem because they listen to the fans.

Very very nice visual style.
Love the dialog in-game, especially when you can choose your response to either be really smug and provocative or nice.
Requires a lot more strategy than Pokemon games. You can't steamroll your way through gyms by just spamming one attack. You have to make your moves count.
Also loving how you can swap between moves instead of forgetting the previous altogether.

They've explained why the game's in early access. They're gathering feedback to really finalize it in a way that matters. And it's not like in the current state it doesn't provide a substantial experience. It does, and it'll keep you busy for quite a while. Looking forward to what comes next. Much support to the developers.
