Even if a SAMURAI performs a deed for his lord that others call remarkable, he must never see it as such himself.
A true retainer understands that his master's recognition is not the measure of his duty—nor is the world's praise.
Loyalty lies in acting without the need for acknowledgment, knowing that service itself is its own reward.

From birth to death, people devote themselves to a ceaseless cycle: waking in the morning, seeking food, working, and sleeping—repeating this endlessly without ever asking what they truly are.
Their mind drifts like a cloud, flows like a river, never stopping for even a moment, and before they know it, old age and death arrive.
To live without realizing this is no different from dreaming with your eyes wide open. . .:gtfoglow:
