A perfect 40k game to just lean back and relax. However I would recommend waiting for a discount if you are interested in it. The soundtrack, sound effects and general atmosphere are all phenomenal. Fighting the Necrons doesn't get old throughout the game, as it uses quite a bunch of the tabletop units to keep the game somewhat fresh. There is not a lot of variety in between missions and the boss fights are the only missions that truly stood out, however watching your cohort of tech priests grow stronger and more powerful feels very satisfying, thanks to the mighty arsenal of weapons and skills you can attach to your toaster boys. HOWEVER, the balance of the skills is non existant, if you read through the skill trees, you can easily see that some are more broken than others. It is infact quite easy to break the game entirely and make any encounter a cakewalk. On the contrary some builds like a techpriests focussed on melee are utter garbage. The last perk of the melee skill tree will add 1 damage to your melee weapon, however each tech priest can equip 2 ranged weapons and even the weakest will at least deal 1 damage. Despite that, there are enough strong builds to choose from... however a rebalancing of perks would greatly benefit this game. Levels are usually quite beautiful and models are also great. If you are still unsure, I'd recommend checking out Mandalore's review on the game.

TL, DR: Banger soundtrack, lots of stuff to put on your toaster boys, but little mission variety and poorly balanced skill trees.

What a pleasant journey from start to finish. A game for souls veterans and newcomers alike. This game feels like the perfect blend between Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro. For FromSoft fans pretty much a must buy. A lot of QoL changes were made such as item crafting and changing the unique skill of your weapon and damage type without spending ressources. The open world is quite rich and extremely fun to explore, a lot of weird stuff happens all the time and you never know where you might end up, classic soulsborne chaos. There is a large variety of weapons for pretty much every build and unlike prievous souls games, there is no useless meme stat. For RR martin fans, there is quite a lot that seemingly was inspired by him.

It took me about 50 hours to complete the story yet I feel like I've got so much more to explore.
If you can look past the occasional performance hiccup (which hopefully will get patched soon) this is definitely the best game of this year

Destiny 2 is an absolutely fantastic game at its core with satisfying gunplay that is unmatched within the lootershooter genre, a soundtrack that gives you an eargasm whenever you do anything and an overall surprisingly wholesome community.

But despite checking all the marks, it is monetized in the most vile way modern gaming has ever witnessed(no pun intended).
This game claims to be "Free to play" but it is more of a free trial, the actual price for the game is around 150-200 euros to unlock all the necessary content. That in itself is ridiculous. Destiny is a MMO in all but name, so why can't it follow suit and simply hand out old expansions for free whenever you buy the latest one? Hell they removed half of Forsaken and the story with it, yet charge the same price for half an expansion as they did when I bought this game again on PC. The 30th anniversary pack is 25 euros for a single dungeon and nothing else. Since Witch queen Bungie also found a new way to make the expansions themselves more worthless and bleed its playerbase dry: Dungeon passes. Now instead of getting the dungeons with the purchase of the expansion, you either buy the expensive version or hand out another 20 euros each expansion for a dungeon pass. What's next? Raid passes? Strike passes? Destination passes? It's getting ridiculous.

On top of that you pay for 4 seasons each expansion to even have a reason to play this game and grind towards anything, because for a 'lootershooter' there is surprisingly little looting going on. Veterans such as myself have nearly every exotic and god roll armor so unless they sunset them again, the only thing worth doing is the seasonal stuff... which consists mostly of old recycled content. Season of the deep recycled a removed destination from vanilla destiny 2 and copy pasted bosses from the King's Fall raid. At the same time they raise the price of the season pass to 1200 silver, which is convenient for them since you can only buy 1100 silver for 10 euros or 1700 for 15. Are we stooping that low that business practices in this game have to be as shady and greedy as trashy korean grinder MMOs? Unlike other games with a season pass such as Fortnite, Dead by Daylight or similar, you don't even get the currency you pay back by grinding, not a single silver.

Not to mention there is an entire ingame store filled to the brim with cosmetics. Fashion is the endgame for many people, looking stylish while killing stuff is a priority for a majority of the playerbase, but some of the coolest sets are locked behind a paywall, because of course they are. The eververse store gets more attention than the seasonal content or the servers.

TL;DR great game with strong foundation, somehow more anti-consumer than anything Blizzard has released in the past 5 years.

Welcome to Estalia gentlemen. I will not lie, the chances of your survival are small. Some may even turn against your friends as living corpses, but you have my word that I will use my arcane gifts to ensure your bodies are given unto Morr's Garden. This is the greatest reward, more than even gold, for the fate of your soul is an eternal concern. Now come, follow me. Strike down the undead that rise against us, allow me to find this eldritch amulet. I ask not for my own selfish studies, but for the good of the Empire!
