still better than Doom II, you play
with the character called Tusk dude
going through demonic interconnected worlds
and collecting keys to open doors, and killing
enemies with big guns, but the level design is still
bad it actually need a lot of work and bug fixes
cuz every time i come to a new area it starts to lag
but I would still recommend it

I just completed Half-Life 1 for the first time. It was very fulfilling to do so. I usually get stuck sort of early on in the game, but this time I powered through and am very happy I did so. I recommend this game.

The start is incredibly powerful and an absolutely iconic scene of Gaming. The following levels are equally strong, although as I am sure we all know, On A Rail can prove to be a very contentious level. I didn't mind it too much, but honestly just abandon the little traincart, making your way on foot is more effective. Otherwise, the levels after that were quite great. This game is difficult though, which I think is a good thing, but one should go into the game with the idea that at some points it can be as hard as Dark Souls.

Xen is another iffy chapter of the game. Really slogged through it using the Hivehand because I hand no proper ammo. Quicksave is your friend. I prefer HL1 Xen over Black Mesa Xen, beause it lasts only an hour which I find a lot more tolerable than Black Mesa's Xen. The Nihilanth fight in HL1 kinda sucked because there isn't a clear aim, but die enough and you'll figure it out. Again, I quicksaved a bunch in this game and I'm not ashamed of doing so.

To conclude, I think anyone and everyone should play this game, and I think it is a good game. However, I'm not delusional and it's clear that in some aspects the game has grown quite clunky. Got into playing it properly commited and willing to put in the effort, and you'll be rewarded with the wisdom Half-Life can give you.
