Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt!

Although this game isn't a 10 in my books, it is so charming and unique in certain aspects that I can't help but love it.

Starting with the art directions. WOW. I absolutely love this take on the stop-motion look. I personally haven't played a game with that aspect before, and I was stunned. It is just so nice to look at. I found myself taking a million screenshots because there are just so many beautiful frames to take in.

The original music made for this game is exceptional. I had chills during certain moments or build ups because the music is so damn good. You can hear a certain southern blues influence in it which I absolutely adore. I also really loved the voice acting, I think all the actors did a great job at making it believable. As for the writing, it was pretty good, but a few continuity errors in the characters' reactions to information that has already been learned.

Now for the gameplay itself.. it can be repetitive. It's a lot of the same actions strung across beautiful landscapes. Which if that isn't your thing that is understandable. The game is a good length where it didn't feel stale, but it is evidently the same throughout. The fighting as well isn't super notable. I had fun with the fighting mechanics, however I didn't much enjoy how the fights are little arenas, that you always know are coming, and consists of the same few enemies. But again it didn't get stale, just a tad repetitive.

I wish there were more bosses or at least unique boss fights. But unfortunately again with all 3 there are the same mechanics used, but just a different setting or item used to down the boss.

As for the linearity of the game, i didn't mind it. The story and skill set used make sense for this rigid and linear progression. I do think this game would be awesome as an open world, with side quests and such added. There's a lot that could've been done, but that doesn't take away from how I feel about this game.

All in all I really loved the story, I was super invested in finding out how it all ends. I don't think it lacks soul like a lot of the negative reviews are saying. You can tell this is a project born of passion and love, there is a lot of heart throughout that I couldn't help but appreciate.

If you want a fairly short game with a good story that is different from a lot of current games on the market, this is for you! Give it a shot! <3
