This game has been sitting dormant in my library for.... Uhm.. How long-

2019?!?!?! TWO-THOUSAND-NINETEEN?!?!

And this is all we get? SIX YEARS have passed. And it still looks like its Early Access.

A ton of DLCs, all just adding cars??? What the ♥♥♥♥ is this? Some kind of joke?

This is not worth it. The amount of positive reviews is outrageous. Just install that one GTA 5 mod at this point.

VERY fun. honestly extremely impressed. xen is very good too, but the ending was just a tad bit underwhelming

9/10, best half life 1 mod

its extremely fun at first, you begin unlocking abilities and variants and such, then it quickly ramps up in difficulty and becomes extremely annoying to play because of its trial and error way of playing.

if you want to play approx. half of the game, buy it. if you want to torture yourself with a game where a single mistake can end your entire run and force you to restart, since there are no save files, buy this.

personally, i never even could finish the last chapter
most of the community levels are mid or have (for some reason) horrible english, but thats not the fault of the devs

i love it

doorkickers - a game about controlling SWAT operators through deadly scenarios while being in a safe space with nothing to worry about

i like the concept alot, mainly because im an RTS fan

PROS:
-weapon and tool choice variety, you can choose to either try to arrest everyone, or kill everyone. you can choose long range or short range fighters. its fun
-you are free to use your own strategies, you can either be slow and methodical, fast and deadly, or something in the middle
-workshop availability, do i need to say anything else?

CONS:
-operators cannot sprint (this could be useful when trying to cross gaps being held by enemies
-operator gun accuracy sometimes doesnt make much sense (i know there are certain skills but sometimes even my best operators cant hit ♥♥♥♥)
-personally, im not a fan of the hostage rescue missions

ive heard of a more modern version of this existing but i dont know

anyway,
7/10, would camp the same hallway with a shield again

EDIT - 26th of december 2023:
after playing this game a bunch more times ive realized how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying the "stop execution" missions are, especially some specific ones where you get barely any time and even the slightest mistake is fatal

i get it, thats the point of it, but when you add the amount of damage the enemies do it becomes impossible and just more of a chore to do them

EDIT - 24th of june 2024:
played the game again, and remembered why i havent played this for 6 months

apparently its "normal" that enemies, that appear regularly, tank 14 SHOTS TO THE FACE, from the strongest gun in the game.

who the actual ♥♥♥♥ designed this ♥♥♥♥?

also the ♥♥♥♥ i said about the workshop turns out to be a disappointment, not much to see there

5/10, infuriating as hell

...i honestly was pleasantly surprised
when i first saw this game and its pre-release reviews everyone was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on it for being a "mobile game on PC"..

well i can say that it aint that bad

instead of writing a longass review that noone will read, ill just show some pros and cons from the first 1.5 hours of playtime i've had

PROS:
-you always have something to do
-good soundtrack (yeah its from the older games but that doesnt change the fact)
-good graphics (im not a graphics person so its easy to impress me with that
-different gameplay-loop (to be honest, i had no problem with the old gameplay-loop (f.e.: EM4, EM3) (but, it was getting abit old so its nice to see a different way of playing the game)
-new voice lines (yes, surprisingly they recorded completely new voice lines and didnt re-use old ones)
-mostly bug-free gameplay (so far)
-water tenders have a limited water supply, which is more or less a feature stolen from mods but i like that its an official game feature now

-ITS. FREE.

that doesnt mean that its bad, if you dont like the game, uninstall. you are in no way forced to pay any money whatsoever to get access to base game mechanics, i have no clue what you are all so upset about

CONS:
-unit (specifically personnel, not vehicles) models look abit bland, and low quality
-people on the forums babyraging that this isnt like the old games (they are too scared of change)
-smaller vehicle pool (although this might be changed soon)

UNSURE (not sure if this is negative or positive):
-firefighters take damage from fire
-engineers take damage from electricity
-vehicles now take damage again unlike EM5 (just like in the older titles) (this adds to the difficulty i guess)


in the end, this aint a bad game, sure its more arcade-ey than the previous titles and also more fast-paced, but thats what happens with time

7.5/10, i might edit this review in the future, but so far, good first impressions.

alot of potential and actual fun elements here, the story/campaign is pretty interesting and the game is pretty easy to 100%

sadly it seems like the devs dropped this game since the last update was (as far as i remember), a DLC that was released in 2022...

theres also numerous bugs and AI issues

if you want to play it for an extended amount of time while keeping your fun, play alot of co-op, i cant really do that so..

anyway, 6.8/10, not too bad but also forgotten by the devs
