I just wrapped up Library of Ruina, and honestly, I don’t even know where to start. This game is just so much. It’s beautiful, intense, and so ridiculously good that it left me staring at my screen long after the final fight. The story, the art, the music—everything comes together in this weird, wonderful way that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

The gameplay? Perfection. You’re running this library where books are power, and the only way to get more is to fight people and turn them into books. It’s dark, yes, but it’s also incredibly satisfying. The combat system is a perfect mix of deck-building, dice rolls, and strategy. Early on, it’s pretty simple, but by the end, you’re pulling off these insane combos and managing a full team of librarians like a pro. Plus, the fights always feel like they matter, thanks to the incredible music and the weight of the story behind them.

But let’s talk about Tanya. Oh, Tanya. This woman single-handedly ruined my mood for days. She starts out as just another tough guest, but when she went after Paul and ate him, I lost it. Paul didn’t deserve that! He was just trying to survive like everyone else, and here comes Tanya, deciding he’s snack material. The worst part? Nobody seemed to care! Everyone in the library was like, “Well, that’s Tanya for you!” NO. That’s not normal. I spent every encounter with her after that glaring at the screen, hoping someone would take her down.

And then, the Black Middlecence happened. This guest was next-level terrifying, rolling into the library like some vengeful force of nature. Tanya tried to act all tough, but oh no—she got absolutely obliterated. Watching the Black Middlecence gun her down with pinpoint precision was chef’s kiss. It was justice, and it was glorious. For a second, I thought I might feel bad for her, but nope. She earned every bullet.

Now, just when I thought things couldn’t get weirder, the game throws the Keebler Elf at me. Like, what? I don’t know if the devs lost a bet or if someone on the team was just really into cookies, but this guy shows up mid-reception, pulling out trays of fudge stripes like they’re secret weapons. And the crazy thing is, he’s actually pretty tough! His cards are themed around baking and sugar rush mechanics, which would be hilarious if they didn’t keep wrecking my librarians. I was sitting there thinking, Am I really about to lose to the Keebler Elf? Spoiler: I did. Twice.

Anyway, Library of Ruina is an absolute masterpiece. If you love strategy games, gorgeous art, and stories that will emotionally wreck you, you need to play this. Just be prepared for Tanya’s nonsense, the Black Middlecence’s wrath, and, somehow, the Keebler Elf. This game really has it all.
