Early Access Review
The game being in early access is simply a excuse to release it early. Many of the design choices made in poe 1 that players disliked are back. Performance is overall unreliable. Hard crashing PC's, insane latency spikes causing freezes, rollbacks of loot due to latency spikes. The list goes on. I have now had to download a third party program to help prevent some of the hard crashes so I don't have to force my computer to shut down because I can't tab out. I would not recommend anyone to buy it in it's current state until the developers show any motivation to improve the problems plaguing the performance of the game. As of now they have seemingly been on holiday vacation since December 17th.

Tried refunding at the 5 hour mark and two requests were denied. So I'm trying to make use of the money I've spent. I've put together a lengthy list of things that need to be fixed or addressed. At the current state, this game is not worth $30, not even $15. I seriously recommend anyone reading this to not buy it.

1. Crashing or disconnects means your character is permanently deleted. There is no reconnect feature.

2. Not region locking servers. Servers must be region locked and you should be connecting to the lowest ping server available. This is common sense, I shouldn't be in Asia or Oceanic when I live in US East.

3. Performance is questionable. I'm not even sure if the super sampling is doing anything for performance. Read another user has experienced a bad memory leak on ultra settings.

4. Voice chat seems to randomly break. Many times I've questioned whether people in my vicinity can actually hear me, or I can't hear them. I commonly see people on the other side of the maps mic popping in and out on my screen.

5. Why is there not a account level progress screen? I'd like to see what my next perk to unlock is and what to look forward to in the future.

6. The invincible zombies. I have experienced many times a game, invincible, unkillable zombies. No arms, legs, or head still chasing after me.

7. Inventory/quick item slots will randomly bug out. I've noticed this happens a lot when trying to equip a bandage in a quick slot, causing me to panic.

8. Sprinting causing rubber banding. As stated earlier I seemed to have been connected to a lobby based in Oceanic or Asia and my ping was 120+. I was unable to sprint the entire game because it would cause major d-sync and moved the same speed as walking. I'm unable to pin it directly to ping however.

9. Accidentally boarding up safe room doors. I had a teammate on my first or second match ever who went to open the safe room door with barricades in his hand and accidentally placed it on the door rendering it completely useless. We could not remove or break the boards, thus making the room inaccessible.

10. Removing 2 inventory slots at higher difficulty. This is just a lazy way to frustrate and artificially increase the difficulty for players. Stick to methods that make more sense when scaling up difficulty.

11. Melee and firearm damage falloff. The falloff is increased the higher difficulty you reach. Which only makes the combat more frustrating as invincible zombies seem to be even more common. Zombies tanking multiples shotgun shells to the head and body. There's essentially no reason to waste inventory space on the shotgun and ammo unless you can't find anything else.

12. Lack of a tutorial or hints. This game provides nearly zero to players in terms of in game hints and controls. I'd advise everyone to check your key binds. I understand C will sort of navigate you to what you need to do, but it's usually vague and confusing, at least to new players.

13. Having your FOV stuck on interactable objects if 2 players interact with it at the same time. In which case your character is stuck/left behind after extraction.

14. Healing yourself with a med kit, getting full health just to die instantly without any explanation seconds later.

15. Being stuck with a bandage, unable to switch weapons or do anything in your inventory.

16. Soft locking a complete area's objectives. Denying you to get important resources such as ammo and meds to increase your success chances (Try to interact with the security system in the bar without the alarm going off first).

17. After a few swings with a pipe, my character was already out of stamina. It doesn’t seem realistic for a pipe to exhaust stamina that quickly, especially when you consider the context of a survival scenario. It would be great if melee combat could be smoothed out, and stamina consumption reduced.

18. Explosives not causing damage: There seems to be an issue with explosives, as they don’t appear to be causing any damage. When I threw a grenade, it had no effect on the zombies.

19. Matchmaking Failed: Please check your internet connection. Read this was only fixed by reinstalling the game.

20. Seemingly infinite zombie spawns. Zombies seem to multiply at a rate of which becomes unplayable. This is especially bad at power plant. Each zombie kill is replaced by another, making soloing near impossible. This seems to happen at regular objectives as well. Only way of combating this is to have a group of players, which if they die, you're screwed.

21. Vaulting becomes lousy and flawed. Trying to vault over small objects like short fences and boxes is hit or miss. You either don't hit spacebar at the correct angle or it refuses to work at all. I see myself approaching objects trying to jump above and on top of them rather than relying on the vault mechanic.

22. No form of loadout or gearing back into a game after successful extract. Common sense would conclude after you extract you'd probably bring gear with you back into a new match. I understand this may be a feature being worked on or planned in the future, but I don't see why we wouldn't load into a game with a fireaxe or machete from the match before with the scaling difficulty.

For a game that is developed by a AAA company, this game is in an extremely poor state. This game was not ready to be released. It was half baked, raw, and cold in the center. If it were up to me I would not have released the game for at least another year.

Random Bullet Deviation completely butchering the joy out of gunplay to cater to casual players. The removal of the damage indicator when hitting a vehicle. Hit registration is completely out of wack. Shooting whole magazines into infantry or having shot a tank shell at a helicopter and watching it blow up and deal zero damage is a common occurrence every match. Being unable to revive or be revived when downed too close to a wall. Hovercrafts dominating the battlefield because they are too hard to hit and have too much health for a transport vehicle. These things are barely scratching the surface of all the things wrong with this game. And I haven't even mentioned how limited we are with weapons. There is literally only two LMG's for god sake.

They chose to remove core features that make Battlefield fun to play as a solo player and as a team and completely gutted it. So much so that if it wasn't for the title I would just think it's some Indie studio developing a COD/Battlefield crossover. I do not recommend this game and if you do want to try it only spend the $15 on EA Play Pro and save yourself the time and money.

ICO update is pretty lame. Noodle arms and blinding suppression is just annoying.
