Wow. This game got me. It's a wild ride deep into the Abyss of a horror FPS with a collectible (rogue-likeish/looter-shooterish) item twist. Unloved has a very classy (D2/HL1) vibe and a rock solid game loop that lets you forget what you are doing. I like the looks of it despite being gory. The sound might be even more disturbing, but you get used to it. The heat mechanic (which defines the danger level) and trinket system (which defines your power level) is very interesting and engaging. The difficulty (skill) levels walk a very fine line between challenging and rewarding even when higher levels feel too difficult first. You do not only get better by collecting stronger trinkets/gear but also by learning to play better and to game the (resource management) meta-game. Unloved asks for a lot and reaching the highest level is very, very demanding but it also gives a lot back and everything is just an offering. You can play as much as you want; you can enjoy as much as you want. This is not a Gacha (microtansactions) game, this is a real game with a lot of love!
