I bought the game on release, excited, thinking it would be a fantastic remaster of the original.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I thought the improved graphics and game map would be fantastic, but unfortunately, while the graphics are great, the huge maps spoil the fun.
I don't recommend buying it without a sale.
I think it's a better decision to buy the original, as it's more enjoyable to play and provides more fun and satisfaction.

Haters? Maybe they just didn’t understand what they were dealing with. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin isn’t just a “harder version” of the base game — it’s an ambitious reimagining that deliberately challenges the expectations of Souls fans. With remixed enemy placements, new mechanics, and subtle changes in level design, it creates an experience that forces even veterans to think and adapt.

One of the most debated elements is the Adaptability stat, which affects how fast you use items and determines the number of invincibility frames (i-frames) during rolls. For many, this was a shock — in previous games, your roll was reliable from the start. Here, you have to earn it by investing points. Not everyone liked this, but it wasn’t a random choice — the game rewards players who take the time to understand and work with its systems.

Yes, DS2 has a different rhythm than Bloodborne or Sekiro — more "chess-like" than "balletic." But that’s not a flaw; it’s a stylistic decision. The bosses may be less visually striking at times, but the game makes up for it with excellent world architecture, a massive amount of content, and many optional areas that are easy to miss.

What’s important is that DS2 isn’t a game you can fully judge from videos or others’ opinions. It’s something you have to experience yourself — especially in the Scholar of the First Sin version, which improves graphics, balance, and enemy AI. Its atmosphere — melancholic, foggy, and full of decay — is among the most unique in the entire series.

So if someone says it’s the “worst” entry, ask them: did you actually play it? Did you finish it, trying to understand its pace? Because for many who gave it a real chance, DS2 is an underrated gem — different, yes, but still brilliant.

Ogólnie gra jest spoko (napewno lepsza niż gorsza) ALE jest tak jedynie przez kilka pierwszych zleceń oraz jedynie jak grasz ze znajomymi. Gra po dłuższym czasie jest nudna i monotonna, czego więcej się można spodziewać po symulatorze rozwożenia itemków po europie? Grę kupić na promce i chwilę pograć - spoko, ale na dłuższą metę nie jest zbyt ciekawa. Mam w grze te ponad 30 godzin, ale jak teraz myślę mogłem je wykorzystać na jakąś lepszą produkcję. Grać w ETSa pewnie dalej będę, ale jedynie jak znajomi będą chcieli...
