The game is fun for around 20-30 hours or so when you first jump into it with some friends. However, the fun and awe of it quickly wanes. The adding in of gliders and the mechanics of them basically mean this large and mostly empty map becomes a small and empty map. The awe and fear factor of traversing the map gets wiped out when you get your hands on one and there is no reason not to. Once you complete the story, which is done very quickly, then the game becomes building and pure survival. I love base building, but the building in this game is very limited. Survival becomes easy once you've got all your weapons and plenty of ammo.

I've played Verdun, Tannenberg, as well as other WWI FPS games such as Beyond the Wire and Holdfast. I can, with great confidence, confirm this is the best WWI FPS of them all including within this developers series. The progression system is significantly more rewarding. By in large at their core most WWI FPS games will be the same, so what it comes down to is how they develop a system to reward you for your efforts in the game. Isonzo knocks it out of the park in addition to its stunning maps and gameplay.

It is very immersive and fun. However, there is basically no player base and so while I'd recommend it cause its fun probably don't get it until it achieves something of a base.
