This was before Guilty Gear simplified itself for casual audiences.

If you are a Strive player, prepare for something familiar but twice as deep and a VERY different fighting system.

This is a stylish approachable anime fighter with an insane amount of mechanics and a defining feature of unique character gimmicks. Every character is playing by a different set of rules and its amazing. One of the most tightly crafted fighters ever made and I wish Arc System could continue this style.

An incredibly complex yet difficult fighting game, among some of the deepest in the genre. If you are willing to tolerate some difficult execution for a modern fighter you are greeted with some of the most exciting and creative character gimmicks. Every character is based off of a wacky concept. You have characters that steal meter, character that push you around with wind, characters that use health gain as a resource, characters that can leave detonating fields of energy after normals, you get the picture.

They do not make fighting games like this anymore.

Amazing tag fighter with a lot of mechanics you will not find in others. Gets misconceived for being simple due to characters having a small amount of normals and reused assets of characters with more filled kits in their home games.

But do make no mistake, this game may have a low skill floor but it has a large amount of depth. The amount of absurdity that you can pull off makes this an excellent fighting game.

This game takes a style of game and perfects it. Improves upon Mega Man to a tea with its own innovations. The rogue like elements make the game really really addictive and before I knew it, I had forty hours in. Gameplay is amazing. If you like Mega Man or have a passing interest in an addictive platformer do not miss this. Beating it is a major high.

Story is barebones though.

Doesn't work. I get a fatal error and can't seem to get past the title screen of multiple titles. Disappointing.

As much as people like to make fun of Hololive, this fighting game suckered a non-Hololive fan in with its charm.

Members of the fighting game community (haha me) will have a lot to love with deep mechanics. This is beyond a crappy fangame or some bargain bin indie fighter. All the characters in this game are nuts and the system mechanics allow them to truly express themselves.

Minor edit: Devs should consider an epilepsy warning. Final boss apparently triggered a person in the review sections epilepsy.

Game is actually a very competent and deep 3d fighter despite it being infamous for fanservice and for what it's worth, default settings and costumes have the game actually look pretty reasonable looking and indistinguishable from a typical video game. This is far from a soft core p*rn game although I personally wish the franchise moved away from its more sexual aspects.

Gameplay wise I cannot comment on the competitive aspect of this game since I have not delved into it at that level despite being a fighting game nut. All I can say is the game has a large amount of depth and is a competent competitive fighter. However, I have had great fun with this game casually as a badass martial art game. The game's animation and cinematic flare with stage transitions is shockingly good, better then Tekken by comparison.

Give it a shot. It's free so you don't exactly have anything to lose. It was worth my time to the point where I bought the full thing.
