The game has potential, it can be fun, but there are some things that need improving.

It's supposed to be a fast paced arena shooter with portals as the main mechanic, but the portals feel like just another mechanic and you don't really miss out on anything if you choose to ignore them. The battle royale feels like "let's put battle royale in, it's popular" without mutch thought put into the fact that it doesn't really fit the original direction of being a dynamic arena shooter.

The loadout system is a nice in itself, but having limited ammo on your gun feels counter-intuitive. If you keep dying you get to use one weapon, but if you get better and stay allive for longer you have to pick up guns that others use? Why? There's so mutch potential for guns with diferent playstyles, but youre forced to not play the gun you want?

The movement has a few things that could be improved, like the slide (its super wierd to have to hold crouch and sprint at the same time, but that might just be my preference), but the jetpack just feels unnecesary tbh.

Like I said, the game has lots of potential, it can be pretty fun and I hope it will improve over time.

I sadly can't say much about the gameplay itself, that's because the game is horribly optimized to the point that it's basically unplayable on my PC (I do meet the minimum requirements)

They're also some issues like getting kicked out when the match starts due to "weak internet connection" even when the internet is working just fine. And yes still getting the deserter penalty.

The game itself seems to be pretty fun tho.

This game is full of fun and powerfull mechanics. It has incredibly high skill ceiling. If you like doom, or at least the concept of it and movement heavy games that are super skill expressive - this is a game for you.

This game is a blast with friends, if you don't have any then it might not be as good, but playing with randoms can be fun too.

The story line seems to be written well, the cutscenes are nice and the textures are very good considering the time it was released. I personally didn't last the first hour of the game because of the horrible combat system. Changing the styles is an interesting mechanic but it's just boring. It feels like they realized too late that the combat system is basically clicking in right moments (not to mention it doesn't even work properly every time) and tried make it less boring. I would play the game, and maybe I will someday, but I just couldn't handle the combat system. If you are after the story and rpg elements, I recomend you buy it (wait for discount tho, they happen all the time and for me this is when it's actually worth it). For me in an rpg combat should be fun, for example if I do a quest for a nice sword I want to have fun using it and this game just doesn't do this for me. but yea, if the fighting system doesn't bother you it's a great game with a great storyline.
