I'm really enjoying this game. Well, its really not a game but more of a movie that lets you carve your own path. I really find it interesting that there are a ♥♥♥♥ ton of endings. And for a guy who loves RPG (and Baldur's gate 3), I find the story really fun to listen to. I cannot really say a lot story wise cuz I really encourage everyone to play a blinded playthrough. I'm still currently playing the game, about 7 hrs in, but I think I can recommend this game for people who loves Telltale games like the walking dead series or games similar to Life is Strange. For people who wants to play for the gameplay, however, this is not a game for you. Like they said, "Different strokes for different folks."

I am giving this a thumbs down but JUST TO CLARIFY that the game is good.

I am giving this a negative review because of the current business choices they are making as of late. Adding MTX a month or so after the release is so scummy to me. Hell, I would've been cool with it if the deluxe/ultimate edition holders were able to get benefits out of it, but didn't (rip to everyone who bought the ultimate edition just for t-shirts). The battle pass is VERY bad. Not like grindy bad (i think the missions are alright and simplified), but the rewards are so bad. Selling items that were given out for free from Tekken 7 is such a ♥♥♥♥ move from Bamco, and the worst part is it looked like it was just a last second decision by the lack of good cosmetics in the pass. For shame...

Despite all of the shady practices in the game, the overall gameplay is really good. It's so fun that I would eat it up every time i have free time.

If you would ask me, I would wait for a sale or better yet wait til they fix all of the BS they are giving into this really good fighting game.

TL;DR. Game good, MTX bad

This is a really fun game for ppl who are into masochism, but if i would critic on the game, that would be the very BS punishments. At one point you are just jumping in the castle. One slip, and you can go as below as the sewer level. If only the punishments were as punishing as getting over it, i would replay this a ton. cuz due to the amt of bs punishments you get for doing one single mistake, I would consider this as a one and done (finish it once, never play it again).

This is still worth a try, just take my word from it

Early Access Review
TL;DR The game is great and it's worth full price

As a newcomer to the series, I really enjoyed this. The world is filled with... trees and mutants, but there's variety in it. Based on my experience, I don't really see much of copy-pasted content (other than the tents and rooms from the underground) when exploring the world. Each cave I went was very unique from the other.

The monsters feels kinda alright (I mainly dislike the giant because they dont give you a chace to get up once they throw a heavy kick on you). Like the environment, each enemy/mutant has special variants. You would see one almost naked, and see covered in mutant armor (which makes great variety on the fighting style). For the mutants, on the other hand, there are 5 (?) types monsters I encountered, and all are very unique. For example, a regular mutant sprints fast when they are on all fours, and there's this another mutant with no arms and has a mouth for a stomach that's always aggressive.

For a survival game, building is very vital, especially on night time. This game does it (kinda) right on some aspects. For one thing, there are waves of enemies that will raid your house at random times. One problem is that your house can get collateral damage. So once a raid happens and you killed the raiders, you are left with damaged walls, missing logs, and a very damaged Kelvin (which I will get into that later). The game's building mechanics is the most immersive I have ever played from a survival game. You can shop the logs into planks, half a log, or even quarter a log. One big problem I do have with the building is that there is not enough options (in terms of trying to make a very stylish house). There's not enough furniture and building structure to make the things you like. But since its an early access game, ill give it a pass.

Companions are pretty good in this game (mainly the 3-legged terminator girl). Kelvin is one of the most immersive companions out there because you get to see why you dont use your voice. When you crashed into the island, you get to see your Comrade, Kelvin, in severe pain on the floor. When you interact with him, you see his ears dripping out blood and, by the looks of it, have some sort of brain damage. Since its hard to vocally interact with Kelvin, you use this notepad to give him commands. I love this the most because it made sense. They implemented something simple and made a story out of it. Unlike other games, they would just give orders quietly and they just follow it like you told it to them with your mind. Another companion that I like here is The 3 legged girl named Virginia. Virginia is one of the only friendly mutants you get to meet in the game. It starts off as a mutant that watches you off the distance. If you do remove whatever your holding in front of her, she becomes more clingy than the other day. There will be a point where this girl will offer you food/materials and become your companion. I really like how they did the character development on the girl too. Making them from a shy mutant, to this badass in combat (if you give her a gun). My only problem in this one is mainly for Kelvin. I was really hoping that Kelvin can be this badass too, but you cant give him any weapons or anything (You can make him catch stuff but you can't make him fight, which i find underwhelming). I get it that the guy is pretty vulnerable, but would be nice if we can teach him n stuff.

Overall, This game is really good for an early access game. I really hope that i can see more awesome content in the near future!
