Really nice addition to the series as it adds colour mode, which is on by default. However, this richer experience is soured by bad hit boxes, making the game quite frustrating at points.

I don't recommend this game.

Following the popularity/notoriety of Banana, we have Cats from 100 Cozy Games.

The pngs were fun to collect at first as harmlessly silly, but after countless near daily updates, pushing more temporary available items to the drop table, it's clear this developer is desperately throwing mud at a wall to see what sticks as it carves out a kitty shape niche in the burgeoning Steam marketplace gamification/"print free money" genre.

+ click count is remembered between sessions
+ kawaii vector art
- inventory spam
- endless FOMO/engineered scarcity
- not really a game unless you like collecting/trading Steam items

Probably my favourite edition of 100 kitty clicking goodness. In addition to fun game it has Steam badges and emoticons.

+ Steam achievements
- No Steam badge/trading cards
- P2W
- Constantly spams you to buy from cash shop
- Loot boxes you earn from matches are on timers
- No censored mode option

Core game loop is leveling up risque semi-realistic anime-proportioned fighters in short turn-based games against other players. You can "earn" loot boxes from matches which are all gated behind timers. Thankfully there is auto-battle mode. Seems like most of the budget went on generating the appearance of a game. Pretty cringe desu ne.

I had high hopes for TCSM when I playtested it last year, only to see it struggle to make traction. Coming back to it on free weekend it clearly has abundant issues; developers seem tone-deaf. Killer side still feels lackluster with clunky controls. It is not surprising everyone wants to play victim, especially as you can dip from a match straight after dying into a new one. Enter the lobby simulator: who can pick Ana first edition.

+ Cute fun graphics and sounds
+ Lovely looking maps and Lamborghini renders
+ Can unlock decent karts and racers by playing
+ Easy to add/play with friends cross-platform
+ Not P2W

- No Steam Input and limited controller remapping
- Difficult learning curve; because inputs are digital, you should play with keyboard
- Bit overstimulating at times
- Maps and challenges have steep difficulty curve
- Most of the higher difficulty maps are just full of infuriating obstacles and NPC vehicles
- No full map view
- Terrible matchmaking
- Terrible match points system
- Weekly earnable currency (Lucci) is capped
- No Steam achievements
- grindy as ♥♥♥♥

The game is fun and can be rewarding, and I think can appeal to some casual and more competitive player alike. Although kart tuning exists, what makes one kart feel different to another feels a bit of a mystery and requires players to experiment. Feels quite grindy at times. Kart progression 260 matches to level one kart from Common to Heroic. Right now at 90 hrs play, I'm finding it super slow to rank up for season rewards due to the way points are given based on other players rank, I barely get 3 match points per race.

In speed mode, the matchmaker does not factor in your own skill level. It will constantly put you into matches with much higher skill players on maps that are just unfun or too hard to play on. Often only one player will qualify and the rest retire. I only qualify if I play against bots. Most of the playerbase is Korean/Chinese. The game is probably too hard and inaccessible for average Westerner who doesn't want to spend hours and hours grinding for mediocre rewards.

Remember the laser scene in Resident Evil? Now imagine that as a Squid Game kind of mode you can play online.

Negatives
It's really hard, unforgiving level design by sadists.
Levels aren't really organised by difficulty.
There aren't even checkpoints.
You might get motion sickness from constant tilt adjustment.
Some lasers just seem to come out of nowhere and it's rage-inducing.
Graphics could be better.
It's harder to play on controller and will make your fingers hurt like an old school NES game.
Other players and spectators can be distracting.

Positives
Great price.
Cool aesthetic.
Breath of fresh air if your bored of usual shooting, grinding for "progression" etc.
Maps are quite short so nice casual game to dip into if you like a challenge.

I hated it for the first few hours but kept coming back. Maybe it was all the :SUMMERCAT2023: twerking. Watching playthroughs helps. LASERS could benefit from having more variety in map difficulty.

What I'd like to see
Personal best time/completion scores in single player
Underboob for crop tops
More cosmetics variety/customising like hair style, face etc.

Early Access Review
I don't recommend buying/playing this EA game, at least until they release the new update in Q1 2024. It was already too grindy and repetitive to get class to a point it felt like you could enjoy it and be useful, but not really enough variety in the gunplay to keep it interesting. Gameplay is bogged down by clunky co-op build/repair mechanics on top of poorly optimised base game. With no respect for players who invested so much time to level, they are wiping XP entirely to introduce 6 classes replacing the original 3 to appease the tiny population left. As a fan of the original film I had some fun with it, Horde mode final waves being my favourite moments as hilltop sniper/battlefield medic, but game lacks broader vision than the developers can muster. One can only hope for new maps (feels like there is literally only one map), weapon variety and zero build game modes. At the very least make the core FPS aspect more fun for those of us who just want to kill more bugs.
