I really am loving the game so far. I don't have any performance issues or frame drops that people were having. TSR, I get between 70-90 fps varying depending locations. Using FSR and Frame Gen OFF, I get 70-90 fps as well. With FSR and Frame Gen ON, 150-185 fps. I didn't use the mod for the fps stability. I have a good amount of time on this game and wanted to write a review on it. This was my experience and my thoughts, take with a grain of salt..

The Good:
- Fundamentals of souls is there, core gameplay feels good for a non FromSoft game.
- Combat is really good. I mainly used the long sword and the axe. Chain of mixed attacks felt good.
- Boss fights were great. I had fun fighting them and some challenging more than others, I didn't have too much of an issue with learning fight patterns.
- Dodges feel good when you perfect dodge it's similar to wukong.
- When hit by a spell that normally knocks you back or down, it will happen on the ladder (makes sense lol, just be careful).
- Skill tree is huge and you kinda have to figure out what pathing you want. Reminds me of like the wukong skill tree a bit. You can reset it however you want and refund.
- Art design is awesome and colors are beautiful.
- Game world is beautiful and has detail in the distance.
- Like any souls games, there are hidden stuff you may find or pick up so placement was good. Some enemies would surprise attack you when going for a hidden item. Just expect the unexpected.
- For the people that like linear games, but it opens up more as your progress. This game is for you.
- Enemy placement I think was for the most part good. If it didn't have any enemies that jump you it wouldn't really be a souls.
- I didn't encounter any bugs, so really didn't break immersion when playing.
- Lots of items, armor and cosmetics to use or wear. Some people expect the goon, I mean there is some jiggle, nothing too crazy.
- Heals were not too slow and not too quick. Just about right.
- Deflecting, you cannot deflect enemies that kick or hit you with barefists. If they have a weapon it can be deflected. You need to unlock this in the skill tree. It starts as a clash, then goes into the deflect. You cannot deflect off the bat.

The Bad:
- One thing that I noticed that was some enemies follow/chase distance was shorter than others and some were longer than others. Depends on the enemy. Some people like to cheese that, but I think I prefer getting chased for immersion.
- Although I didn't have performance issues, my friend tried to play off my steam family share. They weren't able to run it on launch. He hasn't tried since, but I would recommend to give it a shot after their performance patches they had. There is a mod to help with fps that I saw as well.
- I got the base edition. I got the deluxe items on release day. Since the game patched the next day after release, my game is correct version now. Did look at the deluxe items and outfits, one a bit more goony because of the deluxe lol. I wouldn't recommend the deluxe edition just because of the worth of the items. Good thing is that they don't give any competitive advantage in the game when I used it before it was taken away.

Personally, I think people should give this game a try. If you have performance issues, I would recommend to try at a later date or use that fps mod. The gameplay is great and I can see it holds up with Wukong and Lies of P. I honestly like the spells and combat chain of attacks that adds a bit of pzazz to the combat. I get the performance issues that other people were having and that can mess up the game experience. So your experience and reviews are valid for that on release. There has been a patch since release for stability and I believe other people can run the game now. I noticed a more stable frame rate since the patch because initially I was sitting at 60 fps on the low side and 80 fps on the high side. Probably needs more time to cook for performance stability if you still have issues. You know they aren't like triple A devs. Be a little forgiving on the game a bit. I honestly haven't gotten mad or like too frustrated at the bosses, I think that's why I am liking this game. Just felt very challenging, but can casual play for fun. I felt this same feeling with Elden Ring or Dark Souls 1.

peak is peak

This game is truly something special, the combat is a mix of Sekiro and Dark Souls. Kinda Nioh like. Mix of every souls-like and just has foundations done right.

Pros:
- Skill Tree. Similar to GoW and Black Myth Wukong adding additional mechanics.
- Visuals and Audio. Animations and graphics are top notch. Everything looks, sounds great, and feels great.
- XP forgiveness. You still earn XP while fighting bosses (even when you die). This means that if you are struggling on a boss, you can eventually earn enough XP to level up enough to beat them. Fantastic touch that tailors the difficulty to the player.
- Story. It's great to have a souls-like that actually has dialogue and cutscenes.
- Looting. Nailed the looting where it doesn't feel like a chore to explore and find items.
- Combat. The combat is insanely good; the parrying of sekiro, Every hit is super satisfying.

Cons:
- Some frame drops here and there.

10/10 Very solid game so far. Game runs great, no crashes or issues at all. Love the fighting and sailing the seas and getting on the islands. Better than Skull & Bones 💀.

Needs time to cook and iron out AI and bugs. Refund for now and play GAMMA instead.

Disappointed in the lack of care for the game. Literally played the game on hard and just was boring with the enemy AI. The AI are like clone troopers who doesn't know how to aim and hit most of the time, yet very tanky. The planets are lifeless. Even the friendly AI are just not engaging with you as much compared to other games like Skyrim or Red Dead Redemption 2. AI literally interact with you and make you feel immersed. Nothing like No Man's Sky where you get a "WOW WTF IS THAT!" on a planet and see a crazy alien. The immersion is ruined by the cut scenes when taking off or landing. Other games in the Sci-fi genre that I have played and seen at least let you control and land anywhere you want and let you hit the atmosphere of the planet you reach. Which gives you some excitement when entering the planet. Not something I recommend at the moment until they fix stuff.

Personally the game is not worth it for me. I would say that the animations, world design, and graphics are good. The main thing about this game is the voice acting and interaction with the guns. The combat leads something to be desired. There is not a lot of satisfaction for the shooting and usage of the early weapons. Almost fell asleep playing this game because it's just not that entertaining to play unfortunately. If you happen to like point and shoot shooters and rick and morty. Might be something up your alley.

I personally loved the game. Most games don't scratch the itch. But, this was just right!

Was a good game. But, hackers ruined the game. I would stay away for now.
