You need serious, SERIOUS I/O to make this game run without pop-in, like NVME type ROM.

If you don't have that and[b/] you can look past the GOD AWFUL pop in, you will find a glorious grindathon with modest player interaction, not that the first 400-500 hours gives you much of the massively-multiplayerishness as a gallery grinder. A lobby farmer.

Unless you're doing PVP, there's no real reason to party up with a friend. A veteran might disagree with me but, I've invited several friends to play this game, even bought it for a few... and it generally ends up feeling like we're just watching each other doing totally isolated activities. There's NO compelling in-game mechanics that give you a reason to spend time with friends, while playing this game. Which, kinda feels like a betrayal of the mmo[u/]rpg genre. I want to do stuff with my friends and I just end up doing everything, alone.

But damn, it is a pretty game though.

Simple, efficient software that the developers continue to love.

It is worth it's price several times over, brilliant.

Although I do feel like it's not trying to use more of my resources to speed up edits... Would be nice if you could allocate more CPU.

First 15 minutes
"Brutal... I think I like it. Simple, juicy, fast-paced PvE."

First hour
"Why are these invisible walls... everywhere... I want to go there where the map says I can get into that corner, DAMNIT."

15 minutes later
"Maybe this game isn't what I wanted it to be... but it's something else I didn't know I wanted"

3 hours in
Friend drops in, doubles my world difficulty
"sh*t sh*t sh*t SPAM EVERYTHING..." die constantly anyway.

Suddenly, I feel challenged... and the next 3 hours were a smear of blood, guts, glory and the little gamer in me was satisfied.

YES, there are bugs, some oddities, some... design choices I don't like.
But... the FEELING of carving through bizzare, blood thirsty freaks, just scratches that itch everything else hasn't lately.

On sale right now... Great buy. Full price? Dunno, think I'd be more bothered by the whack falling animations, invisible barriers, lack of vertical mobility, buggy cover latching or quest-markers that teleport behind you, walking in circles for side quests, etc.
