This game is awesome. Graphics are very good, ships are detailed, game play is awesome, waiting time is short, updates are regular. I have no remarks of technical nature for WoWs.
This is the kind of game that will take some time to master, so do not expect to jump in the game and became instant hero, as you were playing similar games. I advise to arm yourself with patience.
Other thing that bothers the community, is the F2P nature of this game. Well, indeed it is a F2P, if you do not want to spend any money, but soon enough, you will conclude that other players have ships you do not own, and if you are on loosing streak, conspiracy theory and bitterness will eventually wake up in your head.
Premium ships in game, and all premium stuff will not guarantee the victory, I can personally vouch for that, as I was many times defeated in my premium by very skilled players in their tech tree or "ordinary" ships.
So, although it is possible to play this game successfully without transactions, I would advise new players to obtain premium account, as this will give you some extra credit and bonuses. All other stuff in game is completely unnecessary if you do not want it. Question is, how good you are in game and for how long you can watch other players in fancy ships without becoming envious.
So to summarize, excellent game, possible to play for free, I recommend to try it, but if you are not ready to spend some amount of money along the way, better avoid this game, or you will become frustrated very quickly.
