Probably one of the best expansions Bungie has released, and it's not even over yet. Prismatic is hella fun, the story is good, and the Pale Heart is my favorite destination. The negative reviews are 90% people who don't understand that a lot of people playing the game at once can cause server problems, which is not a problem with the expansion itself anyway.

It was... really hard to recommend against this game. I LOVE Stellaris. But it suffers immensely from "Paradox Syndrome"- $50-60 for the most barebones experience the game can be. Then, in order to experience the full game, you have o drop an extra $200 minimum for all the DLC that should already be in the game. In fact, even if YOU can't use a DLC, the AI can. I remember a playthrough years ago, prior to owning the Apocalypse DLC where I was fighting an uphill, barely winnable battle with cruisers and battleships against an enemy fleet with a Titan and several battleships. A Titan is capable of destroying a single battleship every hit. This is entirely unfair and punishes you for not dropping around $200 extra for content that should be in the game by default.

Gameplay wise, an amazing game. However, the monetization is a bit excessive.

Awesome game but DLC being required for 90% of content is ridiculous

While still pretty buggy, I've really only come across lighting errors or AI behavior glitches. There was one hole in the map at Emmett Mountain but that was the worst of it. Atoms are gained through both money and by doing ingame Challenges, which are anywhere between "Kill 760 Robots with a Bladed Weapon" for 40 and "Explore Appalachia for 76 hours" for the same amount. I was able to unlock the Liberty Prime PA skin (1800 Atoms) for free after a few hours of grinding challenges. Anyway, here's my personal list of pros/cons:

Pros

-Can get paid currency free, albeit in small amounts
-Huge map, plenty of great places to set up camp
-Massive amounts of new weapons, armor, and other items
-Playerbase is generally cooperative, only PVP deaths I've seen were friendly fire during Public Events
-Several joinable factions, each having different rewards
-Immense amounts of recipes, schematics, and neat things to make your CAMP unique (I'm building a Enclave research base atm)
-You can launch nuclear missiles at the end of the Enclave questline.

Cons
-Pretty buggy, but it IS a multiplayer sandbox/MMORPG, so I'll give Beth that
-Endgame gear is pretty painful to grind for- you can only have a max of 5,000 endgame currency at a time, and you can only get 200/day. Average cost of endgame gear is about 150 (Gauss Pistol) to 1750 (T-65 pieces, individually)
-Fast Travelling does cost caps, and distance increases the amount of caps required
-Atoms are given in VERY scarce amounts for free, and now that Seasons are a thing, it's even harder (Daily challenges used to give 20-30 Atoms)
-Nukes are a double edged sword- while generally only launched at Monogonah Mine (Collosal Problem event), Fissure Site Prime (Scorched Earth), or Whitespring (Vendetta against Enclave?), occasionally some guy sends it somewhere random, which could devastate your CAMP or potentially kill you in a atomic blast
That's about it. Overall I'd give 76 a 8/10
