I just finished playing through the common route. So far, the games story has a very good narrative and the characters' characterization has been great. There have been some issues with the english translation that need some editing, but that's nothing that can't be fixed with a patch. Translations are still better than MTL. Great job!

Criminal Border P1 is a visual novel that dives into the protagonist's criminal origin. In the game's story you see his original motivations for doing what he does and how he get's trapped in his new world.

I recommend getting the 18+ patch for the uncensored version of this game. During my 9.5 hour playthrough, none of the sex scenes felt pointless or forced. It's weird how the censored version of the game cuts out the fact that the protagonist's homemade drug is an aphrodesiac.

I went into this game unsure of what to expect other than it involving Digimon, tactical rpg elements, and it being a visual novel.

As someone who enjoys both trpgs and vns I ended up finishing the Moral route of the game satisfied. That being said, there are some pros and cons I need to list out.

Pros
Good voice acting
Solid core plot
Interesting method of route split
Dark narrative
Good partner dynamics
Good visuals and Digimon animations

Cons
Simple combat system for TRPG veterans
Lackluster character events (particularly when other main character evolve their Digimon to late stages)

Other than the cons above, it is difficult for me to think of any that would be non personal.

I'd recommend this game more to Visual Novel readers over TRPG players since the meat of the game is the VN and the choices found within it.

This is a fun, good natured game similar to Smee's other work Fureraba. If you're looking to have a good time reading a visual novel with eccentric yet relatable characters I highly recommend this one.
