i played a lot of source so i was good at counter strike, i got banned on CSS on my old account and didnt want to start csgo with an account that had been VAC banned

Well you're either got lucky in match making or was carried as a new player. Barely anyone atually started above silver cause they where actually good. And like I said 90% of the community starts in silver so it's not really funny or unusual.That's an Indisputable fact
