[Laugh track] "I'm not the only pilot, why can't Rei pilot it??" "BECAUSE SHE'S IN A WHEELCHAIR!" [Laugh track] "... She won't be jumping inside of the robot will she?" [Long laugh track] Gendo facepalms. [Even longer laugh track] "Why are you so insistent on sending me to battle some giant monster?? I'm your SON!" "Sadly." Gendo mumbles. [Laugh track] "Wha-?" "Look, Shinji... It will be quick, and simple. Just get in, shoot the Angel in the face, get out." [Short laugh track] "You said the same thing when I first got into the robot and I almost died." [Laugh track] "Because you were an idiot back then! You're... less of an idiot now!" [Laugh track] ".... Why is the nicest thing you've told me all day?" [Long laugh track] "Shinji, listen."
