Banger game but having consistent friends is almost mandatory if you want to actually enjoy running through the campaign.

I'm a little ♥♥♥♥♥ and get scared easily so I haven't made much progress but it's been super fun so far, especially before the first time I died and realized that the autosaves did in fact work. Brilliant work, but there is some pretty annoying jank that arises at points- trying to swap an item between hands, or mission objectives simply not spawning (specific example being a sample container mission- found the location, swept the entire area in the marked circle (even turned on location to confirm I was in the right place), and found nothing which was pretty frustrating. However, that does not stop me from enjoying the game and the sheer tension the experience provides. I can't wait to see what future updates bring- a multiplayer mode would honestly be super fun, being able to stalk the wasteland with a buddy or two. (fighting over the loot would probably be a greater cause of death than enemies though)

My first yakuza game, got it because it was on sale and I had seen a few memes- now I'm saving/waiting to buy each and every one of the other games.

Very good, very polished, definitely worth it.

It's basically an essential game

It's an amazing Vr game, lots of fun. Campaign is obviously pretty long, but still replayable.
Combat is fun, but there are a few changes or additions I'd like to see
mainly-
The ability for swords and knives to cut through enemies.
trying to slash at enemies only for the sword to bounce off without sinking in or anything is extremely dissatisfying and kind of forces you into simply stabbing enemies over and over, which gets boring very quickly.
Maybe a few more gun types like a shotgun at some point to add some more variety?

It'd be absolutely amazing, if only it was a bit more polished, as I experienced many bugs and lots of crashes over the time I played it.. Story wasn't really existent, as in my time playing I never had a chance to read the notes left behind, and the missions were kind of annoying to complete- same old same old most of the time. The world could have also definitely had a bit more detail put into it, however that can be added later. More vehicles would also be great. However, combat was absolutely exhilarating, especially when I was playing with my friend. Pulling off combos by using different items and weapons to absolutely trounce tanks, harvesters, and the like was great.
Overall good game, just needs polish and a better way to deliver the story. Also needs to add the ability to attach rifle scopes to the experimental 50cal, the ironsights give it a terrible sight picture at any range further than a few meters.

I'm glad this review aged awkwardly- I began playing this game when it launched, that free weekend. My friend and I sank our whole weekend into it back then, and then again the next time a free weekend rolled around, regretting that we couldn't buy it at the time.
So recently, we finally actually both bought it- Playing it, there were quite a few QOL and overall changes, and I'm very glad the Devs have been listening to player feedback (The more vehicles point still stands though). This game fills a very specific survival game niche for me that basically no other game I've played has been able to replicate.
Overall point is that despite all the minor bugs and problems with the game, it's still absolutely amazing and I greatly appreciate the devs for sticking through with it and continuing to produce and refine it.
