You know a route / DLC is good when you first thought that you don't even need it, but then turns out to be a really fun thing to have.

I think DTG have done quite an amazing job with this one!

When I first saw the plans for this line, it didn't really catch my attention. I'm not a huge fan of the Class 710, not a huge fan of the route represented either in general. Or simply, I didn't care for neither.

However, once I saw the preview of the route, something changed on my perception of this DLC. It looked rather fun and promising. So I bought it, day one. And I do not regret it!

The route is very nicely detailed and I think performance wise does pretty well. It is a very interesting local route, with the passenger services stopping everywhere. I must mention the existence of WORKING ELEVATORS!!! Such a small, yet amazing way to make the stations more alive. However, this sets a new quality bar which I hope to be adhered to in the future. I've already commented this on the forum but I have to repeat it here: whoever populated the map with sound sources deserves a praise! I think the environmental sounds on stations just feel natural. I really liked the sounds of the cafe at Gospel Oak, and the person typing on their keyboard and such. Super cool!

The Class 710 is quite nice to drive. I feel like the physics feel natural, the sound occlusion in the cab is very nice, the sounds in general might not be exact 100% accurate to the real thing, but they're not too far off IMO and for someone like me, who can only enjoy a train if the sounds are at least acceptable, this one didn't disappoint me at all. I quite like the digital advertisement panels in the passenger saloons.

Timetable mode is GREAT fun! I love how busy the route is and even despite being relatively busy with the London Overground services, there's still quite a LOT of freight mixed in between. Alongside with some other special trains. Not to mention the services running across the other routes that go over bridges and such. So much fun!

I think so far the only thing that bothered me a bit were the Class 66s that somehow show up flashing their emergency lights and when I tried taking over a freight train with one of those, it had problems with the brakes ( compressor not working, similar to what happens with the ALP-46 on the NJT NY - Trenton route ).

It is a bit difficult to find some of the route tasks ( well, the Goblins that is ), but it feels rewarding when you do cuz' they make RANDOM sounds ( or at least two different sounds ). Again, little features that make it all worth it.

There are a few bugs here and there, but nothing that ruined my gameplay. Well, except for the fault Class 66s. But if you start the services in timetable mode, you're fine.

TL;DR: For me it is a 9/10 recommendation to get this DLC! :)

I am quite satisfied with this route so far and I'm pretty sure I don't have all of the loco DLCs for all of the timetable layers ( I'm missing the red shunter 363 and the G6 and also the Oldenburg route ). The TL;DR: I highly recommend this DLC, I give it 9/10.

But if you'd like to read details, enjoy some reading below. :)

I'd like to kick off with the positives:

- The route is really nicely made. The track layout feels good all the way through. There's a nice amount of different speed limits along the way as well as different gradients, which can keep you busy if you're not travelling with AFB on if your locomotive has it. And even so, I have had quite a lot of fun driving a 101 with an IC train and I did use the AFB. It kept me a little less busy, but still busy regardless.

- BR 111 - absolute joy to drive! I'm very happy that both tap changer and "continuous traction" for the power handle have been implemented as the per real thing. The cab interior, the handles, the instruments, everything feels good and accurate. Sounds are pretty good as well, I'm really glad that the devs heard the feedback after presenting some previews of this DLC where they made some improvements on that regard. One of my favorite things is hearing those "click sounds" when the ventilators are triggered or turned ON manually. This cab design gives me hopes that it can serve as a base for a BR 120 as these locos have a very similar cab layout and controls.

- If you're like me and have been on TSW for a while, and if you've got most of German DLCs, then you're in for a treat! There's so many services to choose from, there's many trains you meet along the way, it is absolutely fun! Another great plus is that DTG has already even shared the plans of having the 1116 hauling 4 EC services along this line, once the Semmeringbahn DLC is released.

- This is possibly a small thing but I appreciate a lot that the freight train numbers are realistic, they show their original points of origin and destination, but you get a very clear description of the services, including telling the player what kind of freight train it is. I miss this sort of information on the Nahverkehr Dresden route, for example.

- The Vectron hauls freight trains. I'm happy I can do the freight services with the Vectron instead of a BR 185 / 186 or any other loco. I love my Vectrons. <3

Now to some few negative aspects ( but they're not overly bad to ruin the gameplay experience ):

- There's a few visual bugs with the route, I don't think I have found any technical issues with the route so far. But this can happen and it is not a huge deal. I think the two major things is the hole on the terrain not far from Rosenheim and the floating trees also not far from Rosenheim. I think the floating trees are actually a funny bug. :)

- Looking at 2013 pics of this route, you can see that a lot of RE trains are hauled by 111 with the "other pantograph" as well as Wittenberger cab cars. I believe this was a bit of a lost opportunity to do those options. I see the BR 111 3 times when choosing a service, not sure why. I was hoping one of them had a different pantograph implemented. Would be nice to have at least that different variant. Could be useful for future routes as well as other already existing routes!

- The wheelslip indicator on the BR 111 ( the white indicator over the force kN needle ) isn't working as per the real thing. This system already exists at least on the BR 103 and seems to work as intended although with some issues too. I've reported this on the forum, hopefully it can be looked at!

- A bit sad there's only one service ( IC 118 ) with the BR 103. I would have been happier if I could drive a BR 103 and the normal IC cars as a replacement of the 101s. However, I understand this is mostly reflecting the reality and possibly to avoid the 103 showing up too often on the IC / EC services. Either that or have at least different seasonal services with the 103. I ran through all different months and only had that one IC 118 service available to choose. I know I can just spawn the 103 in the timetable mode but I'd rather have the services done on the timetable mode itself. :)

So yes, overall, I highly recommend getting this route and I can only look forward to what's coming next! :) 9/10 for me.

Let me start off with: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Really, I'm highly satisfied with this. After playing the demo, I wasn't really sure about it. But after playing the playtests with multiplayer? It has become one of my favourite train simulation games! Do I recommend it to my friends and even Social Media followers? YES!! And here's why:

The playtests gave me an idea of what to expect. And boy oh boy, did I look forward to drive the Polish Pendolino that we were getting teased during that time! Of course, Pendolino was the very first train I drove in multiplayer as soon as the Early Access release was here.

Seriously, I'm very picky when it comes to train simulation games. And no doubt I've been having a great time playing this game. Meeting friends in-game, sometimes by surprise while driving a train?! You have no idea how awesome that feels. Or maybe you do! I do everything from flashing the loco lights, turning ON and OFF the cab lights, honking the horns, all things to just greet people on the way. I wish there was a way to make our avatars to wave at each other. In fact, people have seen to find a way to greet each other such as jumping repeatedly. :D No doubt, an absolutely fantastic experience. Have you even noticed that sometimes you can even hear train station announcements?! And they're not even random, they ARE announcing information about the exact trains. Even most station passenger information boards work ( there's still some bugs here and there on that regard ). What about overtaking a friend's train because his train was slower than my Pendolino?! Epic.

Sure, single player still needs improvements. I've already read that the devs are planning on introducing a save game feature which is definitely needed for single player mode. But honestly, with an epic gameplay we get on Multiplayer? I don't really care about single player here so much. It was something I was missing on my favourite train simulation games anyway.

Trains variety: For a release, I think this is pretty good. Some people complain that there isn't too much variety. I disagree - we've got the classic EP07 / EU07, Traxx MS2, Pesa EMUs, Newag Dragon and Polish Pendolino. And of course a rather good variety of rolling stock to pull with the locomotives.

Bugs: there's definitely some bugs, but knowing how the devs are keen to listen to feedback and keep on improving the game ( they even worked on Christmas 2022 and put out updates for us during that time!! ), I'm sure most bugs will be fixed in the meantime.

My personal wishes for this game, besides the avatar waiving gesture, are as follows:

- route expansion DLCs ( I do look forward to drive down to Kraków or even to Bohumín! )
- more locomotives ( Vectron please! But to keep that classic Polish train tradition, I think the game needs EN57s and at least an EP09 to drive with the EC trains faster )
- possibility to see your whole train schedule
- possibility to know your train weight and length information
- possibility to spawn in MP sessions as a guest to just roam around the map freely
- possibility to board trains as passengers... maybe also some sort of conductor feature at some point?
- preview of information in regards to server restarts ( although currently this has been improved, it is still unclear when are the servers due to restart and it is a bit annoying that you can't really continue the journey you were doing before )
- slightly more random train timetables
- introduction of ETCS ( and other safety systems as required )
- introduction of actually loaded freight into the wagons

And besides these wishes, the only thing I can look forward to is the SDK and mod support. I'm sure the community will find ways to improve and add content into the game. I also wish you could consider on allowing people to create their own servers and eventually also allow servers with custom-built routes / modded routes.

THANK YOU DEVS for your hard work. What a fantastic game so far. I really want to see SimRail grow and improve. Keep it up!

PS: And now off I go to bed, after my first complete journey from Warsaw to Katowice with an EC hauled by an EP07. Started at around midnight my time. It is currently almost 5 am. :D It took long but man, it was FUN!!!

When I first saw an article announcing this DLC, and after I did some digging and found some previews of what was coming, I knew I had to get it on release day.

Definitely do not regret doing so.

I was absolutely impressed with everything! Everything from sounds, loco physics, rolling stock, route, assets, scenarios and tutorials, all very well done and clearly carefully scripted as well. Impressive!

While I am very aware that developing content for TS may take quite a while, the 6 year work has definitely been worth it. Fantastic work from all the people involved on this project.

I read on the Dovetail forums that the developer ( AND Model ) wants to see the feedback from this DLC but isn't really planning on making more TS Classic DLC but planning to do content for TSW. While I do think that's something natural to consider, I really do hope that with the knowledge learned from making this DLC will boost the team to actually create more Turkish content for TS Classic as well. There's so much from Turkey we have yet to to get for TS Classic.

That said, I do highly recommend buying this DLC, especially if you're curious to get to know something more than the usual UK/DE/US content. This, everyone, is a piece of art right here.

I have waited on purpose to see how this DLC would develop within time, seeing it had a rough path after release.

Unfortunately, many bugs in this DLC still persist and when the interactive tutorial has game breaking bugs, it quickly ruined my whole experience. I accidentally turned the battery key twice at the start of the tutorial and the tram wouldn't turn on the battery anymore. Had to restart the tutorial. Then when driving to the last stop, there was a car traffic jam and I had to crash all AI cars to be able to reach the end of the tutorial.

I don't know if the game did it on purpose just to show the "dynamic weather" or not but there was a sudden change from sunny day to raining. Terrible switch of weather like that, honestly. Should be at least a smooth transition in my opinion.

On the regular schedule, I noticed I had my schedule already loaded up at the start of the simulation, that was nice, but I felt rather lost on the map. Maybe it would help to see the map of the route to understand where I am expected to be driving. That's not entirely the game's fault, though.

I've noticed at least one asset with z-fighting textures.

How am I supposed to know if the person with reduced mobility needs to get off? Isn't there some special warning for that? Maybe I missed it but I have had no idea if they wanted to get out or not.

The only positive thing I can say is that the sounds were improved in comparison to the first version of the game. The tram sounds OK, it isn't too bad.

I cannot recommend this DLC. Product has been refunded.

I can tilt and be horny at the same time, I love it!

You know that I am quite strict when it comes to the quality of DLCs. I tend to have an eye for bugs. Perks ( or defects ) of being a game QA Tester myself.

I am rather satisfied with DLC. Fantastic work for all the teams involved on putting this one together. :) Congrats!

The route itself looks very nice. I think it is nicely decorated. The track layout seems to have been done properly and it feels "natural". Driving this route with trains without AFB proves to be quite the challenge as you have to pay attention where the track is going up or down hill and the BR 612 really makes that whole operation much more fun.

I have focused mostly on what's new: The BR 612. Yet another excellent piece of rolling stock we've got here. The cab looks accurate, I really like how you need to go to the passenger compartments to switch on the safety systems and others, physics feel just about right, and - a very surprising positive change for DTG - the sounds are excellent! Sounds have always been a problem in the past, but this one positively surprised me. It sounds good in-cab, it sounds good in the passenger compartments, it sounds good outside and it sounds good even with the AI drives it.

A brand new feature for TSW2 we've got with the BR 612 is the tilting technology and I think this has been executed pretty well. It is quite lovely to see and "feel" how the DMU tilts through the many curves throughout this route. Hopefully this opens doors to many other tilting rolling stock, which I do look forward to see!

Variety of services are on-point. It is definitely nice to see that if you own more loco or other route DLCs, you get the locomotive replacements for them. BR 155 is a must for this route in my opinion, as it fits well with the whole East German setup.

I did find few bugs, however. But I didn't find them to be disrupting my gameplay experience, but I shall report those to DTG.

There's also a few level crossings without actual level crossing gates.

But yes, in the end, I do recommend this DLC. I'm sure I will be having fun with it. And here's to hope that in the future we'll get replacements or some sort of new timetable with BR 232 - that for sure will be great fun to use on this route. ;)

This DLC is one of the best from DTG so far. It really raised the quality to a whole new level.

The model of the locomotive and the passenger cars are pretty nice. The feel of driving physics seems to be quite legit in general. Now here's what's really unusual but really great about something from DTG: sounds. The sound of 101 is really good! So good it really makes it a pleasurable experience driving the locomotive. I only wish DTG would focus on doing that for all of their future content ( which so far didn't happen, unfortunately ).

There's maybe two major pet peeves for me with this DLC: no driving cab and although the amount of services this loco has on Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr ( HRR ), most of them are pretty short and you can't enjoy to drive the loco at maximum speed with LZB ( 200 km/h ). This clearly could be possible on HMA if there was the driving cab, so that it would allow to at least make push-pull services going to / from Munich. Also the lack of a restaurant car is a bit annoying, but the driving cab certainly is what I miss the most.

Even despite this, I do highly recommend getting the 101. We'll most likely get more services with them in future routes and hopefully on routes where you can drive a bit longer with the 101. The locomotive is excellent and the team definitely did good with this one.

I've seen the first stream of this route and immediately saw too many bugs. I would have hoped the devs would have listened to feedback ( mine included ) from the Twitch live stream or the Train Sim Community Discord. Then again, I probably should have written my feedback over the DTG forums as it is the official place to provide feedback, I guess. I don't really feel that it would make a difference, but who knows.

Anyway, I'll start with the positive things I've seen on this DLC:

+ The route itself looks pretty nice. It is nicely detailed, generally quite a nice ambient to it, looks good.
+ The train services are rather appealing as there can be quite a bit of traffic at least not far from Hamburg. Had an RE service overtaking an RB at some point, that was quite cool really.
+ Good to see a freight-vocational Taurus, that's definitely a welcome addition. But don't fall for this just yet... see the negative part of it.

Unfortunately, I believe that's about it all for positives.

Negatives:

- BR 112:
1 - a great loco that I looked forward to see. Unfortunately, the major disappointment of this DLC. The exterior model outside looks quite OK. Some people pointed out it looks a bit strange, but maybe that is because most people are used to how a BR 143 looks like. I can be wrong about this, though. It looks OK to me at least.

2 - Sounds are a mess. They are completely unrealistic. Maybe I would be willing to accept it if at least the ventilator sounds were as loud and as accurate as the real one. The ventilators are possibly the most evident sound that one can hear on a BR 112 ( and even the BR 143, which suffers the exact same problem - sounds recycled? )

3 - The cab instruments are off proportions. The needle gauges for traction effort and speed are not accurate. The main pressure brake gauge is also smaller than it should. The train brake lever is too small ( the ball at the end of it is also too small ). The same with the locomotive brake handle. Please do make an investigation of what a cab of a BR 112 looks like. Even better, you could even take virtualRailroads' cab as an example!

4 - The ammeter needle is not working properly. One power notch increases from 0 to 500 AMP. It should NOT do that. The same behaviour happens when using the dynamic brakes...

5 - Speaking of dynamic brakes, those are not even deployed unless you apply full train brakes. The 112 uses a blended dynamic brake with the train brakes, so the loco uses both dynamic and air brakes right from the 1st notch of train brake.

6 - Passenger information screens are not manually adjustable like we can do on the BR 146 and some other rolling stock. Why is there a missing quality consistency on most of your work? I just can't understand it.

7 - Why doesn't the Ebula screen work for this loco? Again another lack of quality consistency... Yeah they are sort of useless at this stage, but the community already found a way to use it. At least make it working properly just like all other locos...

8 - The engine temperature is not simulated ( or is it? ) and thus the temperature indicator in the cab is not working.

9 - There's some more other minor bugs that should be looked into.

Now for the Taurus...

1 - Recycled horrible sounds. Sorry guys, at first try I get it, but at second try? No excuse. The Taurus tone sounds are very unique. Yours sound very fake, synthesised.

2 - The traction effort display is in the incorrect display. It should be on the right side of the loco, where you've placed the Ebula.

3 - The AFB can get broken if you deactivate it while having the AFB lever at some position. The AFB needle remains on the position where you turned it off and it won't move from there anymore. The AFB needle should be reset to 0 km/h as soon as you turn off the system, or at least that's how I believe it works.

4 - Not exactly sure if this is related to the Taurus but the car transporting freight wagons do not have tail markers when I drove a service with the Taurus leading.

5 - There's possibly even more things I haven't looked around because for me, the loco is still not good enough to enjoy driving. Just like the first DB 182. A shame, really. The exterior model looks pretty good.

For a final note on this DLC:

The included rolling stock is what really kills the experience on this. There's of course some silly bugs on the route but that happens, they aren't anything game breaking really ( unless of course there are some which can be game breaking, but I haven't found any... )

I would enjoy driving this route if the rolling stock provided would have at least some decent sounds and would have a good quality consistency like the previously released DB BR 101 - that loco really raised the quality bar to something you couldn't deliver on this DLC. Sad. Unless bugs are fixed, I won't be repurchasing this again. Refunded for now.

I haven't played this game for too long but I have been playing it rather regularly now.

TramSim is finally giving me the chance to enjoy driving on an actual tram network! Sure, there has been other simulators with Trams before, but TramSim so far has been the best at capturing the essence of driving in a tram network.

At first, I was slightly discouraged to get it just because there's 1 line and back then there was only 1 tram. I have waited patiently and followed the updates and upgrades that the devs has been making. You can clearly see that the devs are dedicated to what they're doing, and honestly they're doing a really great job so far.

I bought the game just before the release of the free and brand new E2 tram. Free tram? Yes, free! And you'd expect - yeah, free but what about the quality of it in general? Actually, it is fantastic and easily kinda is my favourite tram over the Flexity ( although I do like both ).

Speaking of the trams: Both trams are fantastic. Like, the physics of driving feels great, the sounds are absolutely spot on, there's lots of features that you can use, the models look really good. Simply, a masterpiece.

Graphic-wise it is really good. The game looks great during day time as it looks during night time. There's maybe few things that could be fixed or tweaked to improve the overall FPS but I'm sure the devs are always looking at everything possible to improve.

There's many options you can play around with, for instance you can also simulate a "covid-19" pandemic mode in which the passengers will be wearing masks. You can also make a nice Winter and Christmas feeling. I think many people know that Vienna is very well known for their Christmas Markets. This is definitely a nice addition to the game!

The line available: The city of Vienna is so well represented. The landmarks are there, the streets look really accurate to the real thing ( seen a couple of google maps comparisons ).

You can also play the "tram challenges" and let me tell you - they are challenging! But that makes it really fun to try and win the "TramSim Points". I think it is a very nice thing to include in the game.

What I really like among all this is to see how the devs are open for feedback and are always active with the community, always looking for bug reports and fixing the problems ASAP. This is very appreciated. Good quality content is better than quantity. :)

Do I recommend TramSim at this stage? Definitely! And I will be looking forward to see what's coming up next as well!

My message to the devs - always keep this quality bar that you've set with your future DLC and you'll be fine! Good job!

So I bought this rather recently because I didn't feel like getting all freeware assets for the freeware version of the WCML South. I was told by some people from the Train Sim Community that DTG has gotten the track work and generally the route decoration better, so I gave it a go and bought it.

Result? I'm actually happy with it! I have already done a couple of journeys between London and Birmingham.
Track laying work is actually pretty good. Gradients seem to be accurate as per information provided from people who know the route better. It seems that there were improvements made after the initial release of the route, because I saw so many negative comments. Yet for me, I really don't see this route as a negative thing. Not at least at the current state of it!

What surprised me quite a lot was that DTG somewhat raised the bar in terms of vegetation decoration. It looks really good for a change!

My only pet peeve is the track models and the weather, but I am personally satisfied by using AP's track and weather packs anyway, so that wasn't an issue for me.

In terms of rolling stock - I have a personal preference to also use 3rd party stuff for this ( yes, again AP stuff... ) but it is good to have the Pendolino with the Avanti color scheme. At least now everyone can get the Class 390 again as it was previously removed ( the most recent model with VT colors, that is ).

If you are like me and don't really want to care about getting assets from all over the internet to install a freeware version of this, then I highly recommend this route. The only small let down is that you don't get to drive the full length of the London Underground Bakerloo line as it is featured on the freeware version - but anyway we've got the one from TSW2 which is pretty solid so it is something I don't really mind not having that on this route.
