When purchasing this on steam, make sure your War Thunder account is linked with Gaijin. But also, if you are a veteran player that played this game before WT came to steam, DO NOT BUY FROM STEAM, buy it from GAIJIN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Now this is the best variant of the F4 out there, and it is nearly the same as the F4-J, but with slates. You get good missiles, good radar, good AOE, you need to get a gun pod that decrease performance and increase drag (which is bad), and decent flight performance. The problem of flying this plane is that the radar absolutely hates tracking targets near the ground. So the chances you getting an AIM-7F kill is lower as most players stick to the ground to avoid radar missiles. Another problem of this plane is the player base, many people want to play jets and not prop so they purchase this or the F-20 Tigershark to get ahead. They often times get killed and would resort to base bombing as their means of making points. So if you play this plane, you are most likely going to loose not bc of your own skill (assuming you have played in 11.0 Br), but the team is filled with Green Players. This plane is frustrating good, but it good parts are only if you can get targets headon up in the sky.

If you have played in top tier, then this is a nice addition. If you want to skip the F4J pain train, then this is a must to get to the F14 XD. If you are new, but you want to play jets, get the F-5C as you can dogfight with some missile capabilities.
