I adore the characters, the art and the story but with a heavy heart I have to leave a negative becuase the game has been out for 5 years and we're just on chapter 2 (like 4 hours worth of gameplay). The wait time between chapter 1 and 2 was so long I already forgot what was happening in the story. With this much time between chapters I'd rather just wait for all of them to release before I replay the game again but who knows when that might be...

This game is truly wonderful! One of the best retro style collectathon games I've ever played!

The art style is on point, the textures, the CRT filter even the character and world design feels very authentic. If someone told me this is a long lost N64 game I'd belive them 100%.

The controls are very smooth, its so fun to roll around and gain momentum. All of the platforming challenges and puzzles are engaging and just hard enough for me to feel satisfied after solving them without being stumped for too long and giving up. Completing the game 100% was an absolute joy for me!

The atmosphere is amazing and there's a bit of character and world building too! The music is so soothing and the environments look so peaceful I felt like I was in a meditative state playing this game.

I really love the little touches like each ability actually changing how the character looks. The little noises Fynn makes when jumping or collecting eggs, the little lore cards written for each character it's all so adorable!

There are some scary bits in the game but they're only scary on the surface! Even the spooky worm HawHaw in the Pits of Despair is revealed to only want a hug!

I could praise this game on and on there's so much I loved! <3

I really wanted to love this game and it pains me to leave a negative review but I honestly just can't recommend it. There are lots of things some big and some small that bring this game down and it could've been such a great experience.

I picked up this game mostly because I was interested in the story. I feel like topics around healthcare aren't explored nearly enough so I was extremely interested in how they handle representing underfunded hospitals and overworked staff but I'm really sorry to say I was disappointed at best and I felt kind of insulted at worst. The healthcare system isn't perfect. I feel like everyone has been critical of it at least once whether you complain about high prices or long wait times. These topics are tackled in the story as a passing mention but the people that are most vocal about these issues are portrayed as a couple of angry idiots and the game makes it very clear that you should see them as such. Very disappointing to see a portrayal like that especially because a lot of the criticism for the healthcare system has a lot of nuance to it. I do not need this game to hold a really deep philosophical conversation about healthcare but I was really hoping for a story that's grounded a little more reality especially how I saw it mention that they interviewed healthcare workers when writing the story. And another thing I disliked about the story came nearly at the end. I was convinced the hospital was bearly holding on by a thread because of the system as a whole. But turns out it's just a matter of the director embezzling money from the hospital which was really disappointing because then you can just solve the issue by getting rid of the director to solve the problem and not question the system as whole.

The story also feels kind of slow. I get that you'd want to develop the characters before the drama to make the player care about them more, but for how abruptly this game ends, the time spent outside the hospital feels disproportionate. And this feeling is only made worse by the lack of animations, music and weird sound mixing. The characters regardless of situations rarely change their expressions and don't even look at each other while talking. All of them have maybe one idle and one talking animation and this coupled with almost non-existent talking sound effects made the conversations really static and quiet regardless of what was actually being said. The music was very nice when it was there but the majority of the game is spent in complete silence or just ambient sound effects of wind or crickets that are sometimes so loud that they drown out the already quiet music.

The game also has some weird tonal shifts kicking off loud and bright minigames in the middle of a quiet and dark moment. There's one pretty serious event in the game that pretty much starts most of the drama of this story and has major consequences later but while you're doing it it's just a funny rpg-like minigame with funny music and goofy attacks! I just couldn't take that moment seriously because of it. With another moment like this happening after the outbreak of that mysterious disease and a patient abruptly flatlines in a room with 3 doctors and a nurse and Dr Krokowski instantly calls them dead and sends their doctors home! I just couldn’t help but laugh at the idea that Dr Krokowski didn’t even try to resuscitate the patient and instantly pronounced them dead.

Again I wanted to love this game! The art style is cute and nostalgic, the lore that they came up with for the town of Porcupine is cool, and the characters all felt distinct, but the issues I mentioned above dragged it down too much :(

Played this game with my boyfriend. Awesome game for anyone looking for a co-op experience!

It has a lot more content than I initially thought. You really feel like a team working with your partner. The world building is also really great, I found myself reading all the little signs everywhere just because I wanted to find out more about the world.

The devs are very active and responsive too. I wanted to mention some issues I had in my playthough but I see they have already been patched or addressed in the updates right after I finished it. The only issue I have with it is that my character didn't have access to the database which made me sort of stand around as my partner was reading the info and clues we gathered.

It's still a wonderful game very much worth your time!

Only two games in my life managed to relax me so much that i started dozing off while playing (not in a bad way of course) and one of them The Spirit and the Mouse!
The atmosphere in this game is phenomenal. The warm yellows of the electricity combined with the blues of a half asleep town is a wonderful combination. The charactes are adorable, the story engaging and it's really fun to just explore around as a happy little mouse that's trying to make the world a better place. Highly recommended!

Something you have to keep in mind though is this is not a platformer really. It's an exploration game that doesn't exactly let you jump at will. You can climb stuff and the jumping system is similar to Stray where it lets you jump in certain places. I came into this game expecting a normal platformer, but I really wasn't disappointed with the way it turned out. This system works well especially when creating a sort of puzzle situation where you try to figure out how to get that one light bulb that's just out of reach.

Reminds me a lot of old European cartoons I used to watch. It's full of character and charm. The art style, writing, soundtrack and gameplay are so unique and it all blends together to create a very engaging and relaxing little game. Can't recommend it enough, it's honestly wonderful.

A very charming and cozy little game. The story is cute and the sound design is satisfying but the assembling wasn't as challanging as I would've liked.
Most of the parts click together by themselves so it's just a case of clicking all the things in order. Finding the order isn't that hard either because most of the time the things blink or the characters give you instructions.
But still for what it is it's pretty good. Short and sweet.

Epic games ruined this game. Took away the crown currency and replaced it with "Showbucks". For the players that bought the game before it went free to play it took all the crowns earned and changed them into Kudos which is now useless. It can now only buy hats shoes and titles but not full outfits like before.

In the paid battle pass if you grind all 100 levels you can get 1400 Showbucks. This is good for one legendary skin or around two normal ones.

So even if you grind the paid battlepass you still won't be able to afford much especially if they drop a collab only available for a few days like they did with the Pusheen collab. This essentially means all the outfits now have to be bought with real money.

Good game ruined by toxic players. Got attacked multiple times after already arriving at the outpost and being in the process of selling my loot. I get that pirates are supposed to steal stuff but outposts should be a safe space. Two hours of work to get the loot only for it to be stolen by some jackasses camping at the outposts and yelling "GG" on the mic.
