Over and over online we hear people label socialism communism, marxist, or lenin and stalins preferred form of government. This is not true and many liberal democratic socialists have denounced stalin and the regimes atrocities constantly in the west. Western europe is not soviet, never has been soviet, and never did purges or banishment to siberia. Not since WW2 and the nazi regime, has western europe ever took part in political purges. At least not violent ones, or ones that can be skewed as harmful or violent. The idea that socalism is some big dictator pioneered by the russians is false. Its one lumped onto good socalist people in order to demonize, and cause contempt, empower the super rich, and keep human beings in destitute, poor, and disgusting living conditions, all around the planet.

The history is a lot different than just, karl marx, his manifesto, and russia. Its far more complicated than that, and started way back in the 1700s. Well the term, socialism, not the actual practice. The practice of fair treatment of all and wealth distribution was practiced for thousands of years, by smart and rapid civilizations who knew the power of such a practice. These societies, such as ancient egypt, were some of the strongest and most advanced of their time period. Because by empowering everyone, but treating everyone equal, you had an increase in productivity, happiness, work, and culture. Was capitalism abolished? No... Meat markets still thrived, trade was still encouraged by the leaders. There was no reason to abolish or destroy trade, or as some would call it now capitalism.

Capitalism vs socialism is a one sided fight that socialism never started. Capitalists, and more importantly, fascists, right wings, conservatives, and republics were the ones who attacked socialism and wanted to destroy it, violently, with force. Most socialists only wanted a thin tax to help everyone. Not complete and total wealth distribution. The only ones who pushed for that were angry, fed up, marginalized, and isolated into small but capable groups who plotted and planned, in an almost vengeful way, against the ruling elites. People like the Bolsheviks. Who did not fairly do anything, they stripped down the idea of socialism as a positive force, renamed it communism, then robbed, killed and murdered by the millions. They executed the czars whole family without a proper trial. After all how can you put children on trial? What the communists did was evil, and wrong. It was not socialism, at all. Not even moderately socialist because if it was people would not have suffered the way they did.

What does nazi mean?

Nazi means national socialist. In reality, comparing socialism to the nazi's is more fair than comparing it to russia, who didn't care about socialism whatsoever. Nazi germany was a very complex and advanced nation. National socialist, was a selfish form of socialism that only helped native germans, or so called native germans (ignoring the fact the people they targeted had lived in germany for hundreds of years).
But was nazi germany strong? Did it blitzkrieg all of europe? How did they get this powerful? Didn't they just lose a world war? The answer to this is socialism. Socialism did not force the hatred of the jews, socialism did not push nationalist german hatred toward europe, socialism was merely a political policy that helped inflate germanies economy. Because socialism wasn't capable of hatred. It was only a tool, a system. It had nothing to do with hitler or the germans personal hatred. But in the effect of making nazi germany a major threat to the entire world, socialism did wonders.

So why is socialism demonized if it makes nations and even ancient empires this strong? Its simple, the same idea that has been around since sparta, fascism, and the idea that only a rich ruling elite should run governments and nations. Tell me, with a straight face, that an absolute leader, with dynasties prone to incest and inbreeding, should rule absolutely before a system that empowers and helps boost every single citizen. You can't do it, not logically, not if you want to actually make sense and look right. Its impossible because your standpoint is flawed. You back the idea of absolutes, monarchies, empires, and dictators. This means that, there is no regulations, there is no laws, there is no safeguarding your life. It is like lemming mentality because the great leader can easily kill you if he so wishes.

Who is going to stop him? Now when socialism is mixed with a dictatorship, like nazi germany. Of course its just a system, its just a policy, it can't stop hitler, or mussolini. All it can do is what its suppose to do, distribute resources among the population. It doesn't have an agenda, it doesn't care about hitlers doctrines, all it does is help the german volk. And why do you think they were so happy to die by the millions for hitler? Only near the end did they start to feel fear, anxiety, and regret. Because many of the germans felt their lives were much better under hitler. They had automobiles, money, food, and ways to make a living, while the other minorities suffered. This is humanity at its worst, but was socalism to blame? One could easily counter that, all the germans really had to do was permit a socalist system for the jews, and for other groups. But most jews didn't even need socialist support they were making it quite fine on their own.

The idea that socialism is nazi, or communist, is pretty absurd given western europe. No sign of nazism or communism in those nations in the modern world. Other than fringe groups, because we in the west like to give people the freedom to be any group they want without persecution. USA does have skinheads, nazi's and kkk. But we also have every other group and ideal you can think of, satanism, Christianity, atheism, and not just ideals and religions, but sexual orientation.

Now imagine a world were, the homeless are rounded up and disposed of, where if you fall on hard times you are as good as dead. Where if the state decides you are bad they can torture you beyond any modern prison. Where if someone has enough money he can run over and destroy any group, individual or family he wants. This is what you get from absolute leaders. No safety net, no regulations, no law, no mercy.
With a sensible socialist policy, that is non radical, non heavy handed, and voted in by democracy, you will not have these worries. You will be protected, torture and execution will be eliminated for all but the most extreme. Serial killers, for example, but even then that is the decision of the voter and is once again not socialism concern. Socialism only exists to safeguard everyone who exists. Including the rich, and the poor. No one should be harmed, a wealthy persons land and money shouldn't be stripped and taken from them. What should happen is simple, a minor taxation, for everyone, to help people who are not them. To help the ones struggling, and everyone should get what they pay in. Just like social security. But if someone can't work, doesn't have thousands of dollars for an automobile, or is mentally challenged, handicapped, or isolated, then a monetary boost, of a few hundred dollars even a month, would improve their lives by a multitude.

Even just a measly 100$ every week would change a homeless mans life. But we refuse to be decent, we instead champion capitalism, and yet what danger is capitalism in? Do you really think socialist taxes are going to endanger your fav film, game, or product? No one is trying to destroy them, they just expect their fair share of taxes. Besides that, if a company takes over one field isn't it fated to keep going and going unless another one dethrones it? And then what does the now bankrupt company do? With socialism they would at least be able to survive and not be homeless.
