Is it groundbreaking? No. Is it the best game of the franchise? Also no. Is it still a fun game to play? Absolutely.

If you go into it expecting the best game ever, you will be disappointed. If you go in with the mindset of 'this game looks like fun' you will be happy. I like the companions, I like the story, the combat is fun and engaging, the world is visually stunning, and the soundtrack is excellent. None of it is groundbreaking or genre defining, but not everything has to be! Some things can just be fun!

This game is a lot of fun, very replayable, and I think it does a really good job of balancing the tension of combat encounters without making you feel powerless.

If you play TTRPGs you'll like it. If you liked D:OS2, you'll like it. If you like being able to do whatever you want and your actions having consequences, you'll like it. Fully recommend.

I love the system of evolving culture that Humankind uses, it feels very organic and you can adjust as you progress to suit your needs or wants. Every play through so far has felt unique because of it, would definitely recommend.
