gud game

I love this game! It caught me off guard because I didn’t know anything about it before playing it, and I hadn’t even heard of it before, but I was scrolling the store and thought it looked cool and now I’m hooked. After 40 hours I can confidently say I don’t feel that I’m even scratching the surface of what this game has to offer. It genuinely has so much to do and I love the depth of the crafting mechanics. You can either set out on a productive session and try to get some story progression or build your base more, or if you’re my friend Alex, you can spend 3 hours collecting every lamp on the map for no reason. (Seriously where tf am I gonna put these things there’s like 70 of them now) This game really shines in multiplayer though, I don’t know that it would be anywhere near as fun solo as it is with some friends. Not to say it’s bad by any means, but I think it could get lonely real fast. This game basically redefined what I thought about survival games, and I just keep coming back for more. I’m hesitant to even explain the game because I don’t wanna dissuade anyone by not doing it justice. TLDR: cool art style, sort of a silly undertone, cool story and depthy crafting and base building mechanics. Very fun and highly recommended!

So far so good! I'll get the cons out of the way first, the game is a little janky at times.. be it the control scheme or just performance or movement things, sometimes its just a little funky. That's not to say its unpolished, because for a free game to come out of nowhere and look as good as it does, i'm very impressed, however the other big issue for me is performance.. Even on medium settings with a solid pc it chugs here and there. The game will occasionally go from a smooth 100 fps to nearly single digits for no apparent reason, and then right back to smooth sailing a minute later. Optimization will come with time I am sure, so I can ignore that, also there aren't really many glitches i've encountered which is refreshing. A couple of UI bugs here or there but never game breaking issues. The game itself is very cool, it isnt like any other game really, but has so many familiar aspects of other games i've played. I think of it as almost like the division 2 meets rust but pve? It's very unique and has a good community to it, the gameplay feels good, the enemies are very unique, and it provides a good challenge as you get further along into it. I cant speak too much for monetization but it seems to mostly be cosmetic so thats good at least. Will update as I play more, but I highly recommend giving this one a chance, after all it will only cost you time.

Recent patch broke the game for me, never had issues with it before but now it crashes within a couple minutes every time i try to play, and opening the social menu creates an instant crash.

Absolutely the best $10 I have ever spent, some of the most fun I've had in a long time on any game. My friend literally said "I have seconds to liv-" and got struck by lightning. 10/10

Story is almost non existent but the gameplay and progression more than make up for it, its spectacular, great art direction, great gunplay, cool abilities and graphics. Worth a buy!

I don't want this game to fail, because the core is pretty sick, but the jank ass gunplay, broken AI, and cheaters make it very hard to enjoy. Sometimes ill click reload 4 times and my guy wont finish the animation and others its first try, random 100+ meter headshots from ai you cant see, its just disheartening. I reinstall the game here or there to play for a bit and see if it's better and for the most part, not really! The single best thing they could do is make it so you dont need to buy a land claim at a safe zone, and not need so many resources to make bases, its insanely time consuming and at any moment you can just get domed and have to start over, so unless you just wanna play nomad and have nowhere to stash your extra goodies, you gotta spend hours and hours to get a ♥♥♥♥ shack with a chest to throw stuff in.
