Has to be one of the best games I have played to sit down and enjoy for a long time. Playing this after playing AAA titles like Call of Duty and game’s similar is just a breath of fresh air. Many people complain about it being slow at the start but in my opinion thats the point. To be able to sit down and play the game at a steady pace, following through the main story line or going on side quests. The choice will always be yours. There is so much to do in this game and I have a feeling once the community drops modded content for this game it will just make the experience even better. I have played both on PC and Xbox (mostly recently) and now look forward to getting home each day from 12hr shifts to sit down, relax, and play this game and explore/utilize everything it has to offer from ship building, exploring different generated seeds when landing on different planets, and of course playing through the main story line/side quests. 11/10 would recommend to anyone who just wants a game to sit down and enjoy at a steady pace!

Its not a bad game if you really get into it. Unlike other reviews, I haven’t run into the task manager issue with the game running in the background. For me its how bad the desync is on any server including your own. Still lots of improvements to be had in the game but for now it’s alright

I didn’t think I would come to write a review this early yet here I am. For starters, I think Battlefield 2042 is a great game. Thats of course leaving out all the problems that need to be fixed. As much as there are several issues with the game that many others have addressed in their reviews, I am here regarding something else. I have been playing BF2042 since it launched through both steam, and Origin (mostly origin). Overtime however, I used to run the game at 60-70fps on low settings. After about 45 hours consiting of playtime from both steam and Origin, my computer has really been affected. Anytime I restart my computer every-so-often while playing this game,I don’t get the smoothness I usually got when I would do this before. That’s not the only problem. Anytime I go to play any other games, I am losing ~30 fps that I usually would get playing. Long story short, this game is absolutely destroying my rig and making every other game I play run exactly the same as it. I hope they can get a fix to this because again, it’s not a ‘bad’ game. It just has lots of problems and is very demanding on computer components.


UPDATE: This game is a lot more balanced in terms of gameplay following the last update. Glad to see DICE/EA is putting forth good effort to save this game. Lets see what happens next with performance fixes.

Overall a great game given that now it is free to play via Epic Games. The only issue I tend to notice is that due to being FTP now, the ranked system has absolutely plummeted in efficiency. It is far more harder to rank up when new seasons begin and even after going on a long winning streak, your MMR gain doesn’t change whatsoever. In my opinion, the only ranks where you can enjoy the game, given that you meet the same mechanical level, is anything above Plat2. Below that, you’ll probably end up stuck in either gold or even silver because of how many more smurfs there are who just sit in the low ranks absolutely destroying new plyers then purposely losing the next game or so to maintain the low rank they have.

Not typically one to complain but...

why is it that suddenly 90% of my lobbies have either
a. blatant b hop scripters
b. blatant wallers
c. blatant auto fire
d. two or more of the above on a brand new steam account with less than 40 hours

(not to mention dropping 30-45 kills in a game)
but i mean seriously? what the actual hell is this? ive turned to the faceit premium csgo system and find that my lobbies are way more fun. i even get teammates who actually have a mic and dont look like theyre playing on a trackpad or a 1986 NES controller.

but seriously. as a returning player to this game, it seems to definitely be at its lowest point right now within the CSGO prime matchmaking system because theres nothing really special about it. hopefully some sort of action is taken going into CS2 and maybe valve creates an actual system that keeps me from playing against new accounts in relatively high matchmaking lobbies.

i originally made a review at less than 100 hours on this game but yeah. unfortunately have to change that now. i will consider changing my opinion once more if something changes.
