This game is a really fun, simple, and relaxing game ... if your definition of fun and relaxing is constantly stressing because your not pausing the game and then 2 new markets pop up, a new small settlement of houses appears right where you where going to put a road and now that perfect space for a roundabout is now no longer possible because of the market that just popped up.

But on a more serious note this game is really fun and a great follow up to mini metro. I loved playing mini metro while i was in class and this game is like a more complex version of that game where you have to put a little more effort into thinking because there is more strategy involved. This game is a great way to kill some time with its simple, intuitive (and frustrating) game design.

This game Is honestly one of the most creative, and touching games I have played in a long time.
I would recommend this game to anyone who has an hour or two to kill, the game doesn't take more than two hours at the most and in those two hours you go through one of the best modern examples of story telling through video games. I don't want two ruin the game for anyone here in my review so all I can say is that it is absolutely worth the $10 and two hours. The game is emotion filled and uses new innovative tech in the form of blinks. I haven't seen anything like this game and It was a very welcomed change in the sphere of story telling video games.

However, despite my glowing reviews of this game I did have some issues with the game. The most glaring issue I had was with the blink tech itself, I found myself having to readjust the blink detection sensitivity. I'm not quite sure where the issue stems from but I have a couple of theories.
My first theory is that my lighting might have been non optimal so I ended up moving the lamp in my room to one side and fully opening my window to let in ample amounts of light on both sides of my face to prevent one side of my face being dark.
My second theory would be because of my glasses it messed with the detection software but as you are setting up your sensitivity at the beginning of the game it does give you the option to compensate for glasses. Along with that my glasses don't have much, if any, glare. I don't really think that my glasses where the root cause of my sensitivity problems but it is an interesting thing to note.
My third theory, if true, sucks a bit. I am a person of color and although my skin tone isn't the darkest I think it might have been just enough to mess with the games detection because I assume that there testing sample when GoodByeWorlds was setting up the game may have been skewed towards white people testing/sampling bias. If true then I would still recommend the game to other people with darker completions but you may have some trouble with the blink detection and sometimes it will register a blink even when you don't actually blink (that was probably the most frustrating part for me even though I was constantly re-calibrating the sensitivity of the detector).

Perhaps my problems with the games detection sensitivity came from a perfect storm of all the things I listed above, who knows? But overall I would still recommend this game despite my issues with it. I cant wait to see what other games come out of this studio in the future or to see if other games are able to draw inspiration from this game and create other similarly emotional and impactful storytelling video games.
