To begin, this is the first ever Diablo game that I have played. My only previous experience in games like this would be with elden ring or other rogue like games that are some what similar in my opinion. I saw all the negative reviews when this game first released which made me wait an entire year to buy this game until I saw it was half off. Honestly for $35 I believe I got a steal of a game. I don’t know what exactly the complaints were about on release day besides the fact that your character resets every season which is like every 3-4 months. I don’t really mind that though as I’m not a hardcore gamer/ don’t mind losing progress. But playing in season 4, it’s super easy to level up and feel interested in the build that you make. Yes, I looked online for some good builds (Bash Barbarian) is what I chose. However, I just enjoy following along the campaign, killing monsters, and completing dungeons/ events. I’ll admit I have no idea what’s going on in terms of the campaign because I skip all cutscenes and dialogue but honestly I have 0 complaints so far. I can see how frustrating it would’ve been if I spent $70 on this game on release day but season 4 seems to finally resolve a lot of issues that true Diablo fans had during initial release. The best game I could compare this to would be borderlands just in terms of grinding for the best perks on weapons or best perks for your build. Obviously Diablo is way more in depth but it’s also not too complicated and the campaign does a great job about explaining everything and what the different vendors are able to do. I started on tier 1 and went to tier 2 because I found the game to be a bit too easy. I have not died once in the game so far but I have been close to death a few times. That could be just because I have not done any insane world events yet or maybe death happens more at the more difficult tiers. It is not a walkthrough either though. Like I said if this game is ever on sale I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it. It’s also on game pass which is awesome. I put in 11 hours the first day I bought it and plan on putting a bunch more. I recommend not choosing a super OP build unless you want to ruin the game for yourself and choose a build that makes you at least click around and fight a bit like the barbarian build. I saw the necromancer minion build but that seemed too easy to play so maybe I’ll save that until my 2nd play through.
