Early Access Review
The game is fun and awesome in it's own right with it's various mechanics and new additions inspired by the likes of Escape From Tarkov(referring to the new stance change and movement speed change mechanics). And even the graphics are great and much better compared to the other entries in the series. But all that gets bogged down by the constant server issues that are plaguing the game atm.

You can't even sit in a match for more than 30 minutes without getting booted from a lobby due to the server issues. And even at the main menu for the damn game you still get backend server error messages out of nowhere when you're just there idle. And it's even worse when you finally find a group of people in-game and start having fun talking to them and playing with them; only to get booted to the main menu or to have your game crash. Or to have the same thing happen to them on their end. Overall the server issues really cripple the experience and it feels like it's taking way too long for them to be resolved.

Other than the server issues, another issue is the lack of content for the game atm. It feels very bare bones in it's multiplayer only state with only 2 factions, some guns, some vehicles, and 1 map to play on. I understand that this is just a "Tech Demo" and not Arma 4 or anything. But that doesn't change the fact that this $30 game feels incredibly bare bones for it's asking price. Sure, down the line player mods will fill that void and make the game feel more worth it, and even BI has only a handful of update "planned" for the game. But right now there's barely any content and it feels bare bones. Combined with the server issues it really doesn't feel worth it.

There are many users who will say to hold out and be patient with BI and to wait till they launch the fixes and content that people are waiting for. But there's no proof that BI will do any of this. It's all word of mouth from other users and partially from BI themselves. And even with the fixes that have been launched as of today, they did not work and the issues are still hard persisting. But in the end that's all it is, just word of mouth and that's why I say hold out and stay skeptical. Don't buy the game yet until the DEVS fix the server issues, and flesh out the "tech demo" a bit more with some more content. Just wait overall unless you're a hardcore shooter fan like me or just a huge fan of Arma. If you're either of those, I think you'll like all the new things of the engine and game. Such as the gameplay mechanics and the prettier graphics of this game. But other than that, the game has some serious server issues plaguing it and a huge lack of content overall. Just hold out and don't listen to the fanboys trying to excuse a lot of the game's issues.

For me, this is a 5.5/10 as of 5/19/2022. Would be a good 7 or 8 out of 10 if the game didn't have these server issues. I'll update my review if the issues the game currently has are resolved.

Totally worth it for $5 imo. This game is comparable to that of the game Enlisted. And compared to that game, I think various aspects of the core gameplay and of the game are a bit more centric to realism and try and do away with any sort of "arcadeyness". The gameplay is more realistic and slow, the features are surprisingly nicely done in most cases. And even the AI works amazingly well. They can pilot planes, crew tanks in their own squads, command and lead their own squads, call in arty, use all player classes, and can just do so much on their own.

The game at first is very off putting with it's seemingly dated graphics. But I can promise you that the core game itself is much better than what the graphics lead you on to think. I can definitely see the game benefiting from some sort of optional graphics update however.

Aside from that, the game also has a pretty in-depth Mission Editor. Of which players can create their own scenarios for either them, or others to play as well. Adding even more replayability to a game like this.

The developer is also incredibly persistent with updates and is focused on fully completing this game. So it's not a project that's just going to be left behind in the dust after some time.

So overall, for a $5 game I think this is totally worth it! Worth much more than just my $5 so big props to the devs. I'm really happy with this game and I really hope they keep pushing it further with additional polish and refinement.

Also really looking forward to that Stalingrad paid DLC!

Played a bit a while back when it was free for a bit. Really made me feel like I was in the Middle East. 10/10 would get charged by a suicide bomber again

I purchased this game for nostalgia sake, and I wasn't disappointed at all. This game offers a whole lot of entertainment if you're into RTS games. I highly recommend this game, in my opinion the skirmish mode is the best part of the game.
