If you play many multi games, you may encounter sudden lagging screen from the beginning.
I offer a resolution which how to fix the problem.
Firstly open the folder as below path.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\savegame
You can see "multi" folder in "savegame" folder.
Then open "multi" folder.
You can see many auto saved file there.
So delete all files there.
Start AOE2HD and check the problem fixed.
For example, the speed dropped suddenly, packet loss sometimes etc..
Today I've checked the related infomarion and I've known it had been by recent big typhoon.

If you are involved with desync or dropping on multiplay, I really feel sorry for you.
I refrain from playing for a while to be fixd obviously by the isp.
If you face the weird noise or weird lag when you playing or after playing, try to install old graphic driver.
By my experience, new NVIDIA graphic drivers released on 12.2020 caused weird lag and sound noise.
So I tried to install old(about 6 months ago) ones with clean installing option then it fixed the problem perfectly.
I hope this way will fix your problem!
