1.Life is Strange
not much explaination needed imo, deep story, beautiful attention to detail. set up the concept for following games and executed it so well the later games try and fail to achieve the same level (of the ones i've played and can thus can comment on)

2. Life is Strange: True Colours
Spoilers for the basegame as well as the Wavelengths DLC (kinda)
a beautiful story of either learning to settle down and to feel like you belong, or to chase adventure on the open road, never staying too long in one place. Player choice revolved more around how alex handles her emotions and thoughts - shaping her person through feelings more than physical actions is refreshing. and i personally don't mind the story being a bit more streamlined for this to work. And I believe this way of telling a story about someone with empathy powers fit better than just doing LiS1 again. This is a tasteful continuation of Life is Strange, bringing a character back from BTS in a way respectful to the original game, with the dlc even taking having played the first game and the chosen ending into account

3.Life is Strange: Before The Storm
works well for a prequel to the first game meant to be played after the first, making certain moments much more impactful. Due to the nature of a prequel, there are more anchored points in the story you must go through one way or another, thus some choices dont feel as if they matter. rather short in comparison to the others, which makes sense but also leaves me wishing for more.

expands on characters mentioned in the first game wonderfully, and sets up it's own characters just as well. f.e. Rachel, who is only ever described ambigouisly gets fully fleshed out in this game and through the relationship displayed of hers with chloe we also see the extent of trauma chloe went through in the time max was gone.The bonus episode Farewell is well done and expands on Max and Chloes relation/friendship.

Life is Strange 2 (getting around to playing it)
Life is Strange Double Exposure
probably won't be playing this after hearing very reasonable criticism of changing Max in a way that ruins the first game. Also I'm just happy with closing Maxs' story with the end of the first game and not continuing a story that was finished already. Also being a sequel to a game with choices which bring with them drastically altering consequenses for the Characters of LiS1, even before reading reviews I couldn't picture the game satisfying my need for a LiS game nor being a satisfying sequel to a story that didn't need a sequel, having your choices not matter or be indirectly retconned doesn't feel good. And the essence of the LiS games is not some linear collection of a single character doin stuff with their power but more about different people with powers and the choices they make and how the powers change their lives and how they end up making decisions because/in spite of their powers. For the schmucks that want a continuation of Max and Chloes relationship, there's a thing called fanfics for that
